Chapter 420 - Chapter 419: Preparations

After Transfiguration, Hermione and Justin headed to the hospital wing.

For more than a week, the lawn outside the hospital wing window had practically become their base of operations.

From there, Sean could hear their discussions downstairs.

And today, their plan was officially set to begin.

Discussing details as they went, the two lowered their heads and waited for Madam Pomfrey to come to the door and let them in. The moment the door opened, they quickly noticed two red-headed figures.

"Water, or pumpkin juice?"

Fred held a tray of cups.

"Water is fine... Actually, pumpkin juice."

Sean rubbed the space between his eyebrows, feeling somewhat resigned.

"Careful, Fred, the great Green is wounded!" George grabbed the rail of the hospital bed and squawked.

"Of course, George! Let me ask you quietly, have you ever seen the great Green injured?" Fred put down the tray, seemingly asking George, but his gaze never left Sean.

"Of course—not. Strange business, the strangest thing to happen at Hogwarts in years." George blinked at Sean.

"But he won't say a word, no matter what," Fred said in a sarcastic, teasing tone.

"His loyal followers don't even know who to settle the score with," George immediately chimed in.

"I swear, if I ever meet the scoundrel who cast the curse," Fred picked up a pair of Omnioculars, his large eye filling the lens.

"I'll stuff U-No-Poo up his entire nose and mouth!" George announced loudly.

"Aha!"

The two high-fived.

"What do you think?" Two heads sandwiched Sean from left and right.

"I need to think about it..." Sean said slowly.

Stuff U-No-Poo up Voldemort's nose?

That would be difficult.

After all, Voldemort is the only wizard who can never be led by the nose.

"Downer!"

Fred slipped away before Madam Pomfrey could chase him out.

"Boring!"

George bowed and scurried off too.

Madam Pomfrey chased after their retreating figures in a rage: "You two little rascals! If you make noise in the hospital wing again, don't ever come back!"

From afar, their voices echoed back: "Sorry, Madam Pomfrey! Oh, don't be angry, we'll be back!"

"Two little scoundrels," Madam Pomfrey spat again.

Then, she looked down and saw two stunned second-year wizards.

"Oh, dears, I didn't mean you two. Go on in. The Weasley twins are always causing a ruckus, especially..."

Madam Pomfrey looked at the young wizard they were visiting and shook her head in confusion.

Little Green doesn't look anything like the mischievous Weasley twins. How did he become their... leader?

Only then did Justin and Hermione tentatively enter.

They looked ahead; Sean was only a few meters away.

He was lying on a hospital bed covered with crisp white linen sheets. The table beside him was piled high like a small mountain; it seemed half the candy shop had been moved here.

"Justin, Hermione," he said with a smile.

"Sean, are you... okay? You know, we can postpone our plan..." Hermione examined him carefully.

"I hope you know, more importantly, we need you," Justin looked at Sean, wanting to know if he was truly alright.

"Madam Pomfrey has allowed me to be discharged, just for safety, I need to be observed for a few days," Sean said.

Madam Pomfrey, who was cleaning the hospital wing nearby, looked up to see the two young wizards' pitiful, inquiring eyes.

"Go on, take the patient for a walk, children," Madam Pomfrey said, reining in her fiery temper.

...

Moving from February into March, the weather hadn't changed much, only adding wind to the dampness.

Three young wizards walked shoulder to shoulder along the corridor. Their lips moved, but no voices could be heard.

Only by getting close could one hear their shocking conspiracy.

"Okay, let's go over the entire plan again to avoid any slip-ups," Hermione said seriously.

"First, I'll go to Professor Lockhart for an autograph, tell him we've organized a fan club for him, and lead him to that storage room Sean mentioned.

Then, Justin, you lie in ambush inside. Use the Disarming Charm you just learned to disarm him, then use the Tarantallegra spell to incapacitate him.

Finally, Justin, are you sure you can disarm him the moment the door opens?"

Justin looked steady and nodded sincerely.

"If he reacts, I'll join you immediately."

Hermione nodded. "Then, the most important point, Sean, you'll be there the whole time, right?" she asked.

Sean nodded.

"Excellent! I believe every part I've arranged is fine, but the key remains that we need to adapt if anything unexpected happens...

Now, let me confirm the efficacy of the Veritaserum one last time..."

As Hermione spoke, she took out a crystal phial and nervously read the stained page in Most Potente Potions.

"It looks just like the book says... After Lockhart drinks it, we'll have a whole hour to question him."

"Hermione, listen to me, this is the sixteenth time you've confirmed it.

There might be accidents, but if there are, we'll solve them together.

Relax, okay?" Justin comforted her.

Hermione glared at him and looked seriously at Sean.

"The plan is perfect; there won't be any problems," Sean's voice came, and only then did Hermione relax a bit.

"Alright, we'll split up. See you tonight."

Hermione walked away briskly, clutching the crystal phial; she needed to find something to test the Veritaserum on.

"See you tonight, Sean."

Justin prepared to find Neville to practice spells.

So, Sean got some peace.

He sat in the small central courtyard of the Hogwarts tower, commanding a vine to form a chair.

Then, he quietly began to read.

He had many books: The Book of Ghosts, Headmaster Dumbledore's Transfiguration notes, and recently, the old books left from Ravenclaw's studio.

He should have had plenty of time in the hospital, as the hospital wing was supposed to be quiet.

However, Fred and George ran in there all day long, and occasionally some young wizards would bring him candy.

Among them, Hannah had carefully asked him a few special questions.

"Mr. Green, oh, I heard you've been dreaming. You dreamed of the Lucky Black Cat, didn't you?" Hannah asked sincerely.

Holding his book, Sean didn't know how to answer for a moment.

"I think I understand. Congratulations on having a lucky dream!

Do you want to join our club? It's the biggest club at Hogwarts.

If you don't want to, please join the Luck Council. It has Harry, Ginny, and me.

We are the few wizards who have dreamed of the Lucky Black Cat. I think there must be a reason for this.

Are you willing to uncover these secrets with us?" Hannah invited earnestly.
