Chapter 244 - Another Sealing Treasure Vase

Among all these planners, Ryōsuke felt that Nagato's desire was the most grounded in reality—it might actually have achieved something. Nagato wanted to resurrect the Ten-Tails to obtain a level of combat power that would serve as a supreme deterrent, ensuring the five great nations would never dare to start another war. Whoever chose to initiate conflict would simply be crushed by the Ten-Tails. In a sense, that truly could have brought peace to the shinobi world for a long time.

Unfortunately, Nagato was being played. Even Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Obito were being manipulated. The so-called Infinite Tsukuyomi plan was nothing more than Black Zetsu's scheme to resurrect his mother, Otsutsuki Kaguya. It required a powerhouse with the Rinnegan to merge with the Ten-Tails as a Jinchūriki, serving as a medium to bring his mother back.

Recalling the original plot where Six Paths Madara had his heart pierced by Black Zetsu and was used as a vessel for Kaguya's revival, Ryōsuke felt a surge of revulsion. He had his own designs on Kaguya, after all. He couldn't abide by that method of resurrection. If it came to that, he would rather just slice the moon open himself and rescue Kaguya's original body directly. That seemed like a much better way to obtain the true Otsutsuki Kaguya.

However, he currently didn't possess the power to split the moon. And even if he could, he likely wasn't a match for Kaguya yet. He had also considered whether he should become the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki, but the Ten-Tails was essentially the shell of the God Tree, and the God Tree was Kaguya's incarnation. If he became the vessel, he might end up being the medium for her revival and getting backstabbed by Black Zetsu. That was absolutely unacceptable.

It was too early to worry about such things, though. For now, he just had to ensure the Akatsuki didn't succeed in gathering the Tailed Beasts.

He turned his attention back to his son. New born babies were honestly quite ugly—thin, wrinkled, and lacking any meat on their bones. But they would look better once they grew up.

A few days later, Kurenai had recovered her strength. She returned home and held her child, looking at the little guy with a heart full of sweetness. This was the fruit of her union with Ryōsuke.

"Ryōsuke, give the child a name."

Ryōsuke pondered what would be best. Given his unique circumstances, he was bound to have many descendants in the future. Yakushi Nonō, Yugito Nii, Mabui, Shizune, and Tsunade were all already pregnant. As for Samui and Uzuki Yugao, he wasn't entirely certain yet; one was in the Cloud Village, and the other had disappeared, no longer serving as Tsunade's Anbu.

With so many children on the way, it was best to have a naming convention that made it easy to keep track of their birth order. He needed a system that was easy to count.

"How about Uchiha Ōmoku?"

Kurenai's lips curled into a slight smile. She was a bit speechless; it was certainly a unique name. But perhaps being unique meant the child would be special?

"Let's go with that then," she said, looking down at the infant. "From now on, your name is Ōmoku. Grow up to be as tall and strong as a great tree."

'That sounds quite nice actually,' she thought. 'It has a good meaning.' As a mother, she naturally hoped her child would grow up healthy and strong.

Ryōsuke was delighted. He hadn't expected his casual naming logic to be interpreted so meaningfully. It seemed he had a talent for naming after all.

"Once you've rested enough, you should come back to the clan compound with me to see my grandfather," he told Kurenai.

Previously, his household consisted only of him and his grandfather. Now that his bloodline was expanding, there was another member of the family. At the very least, it would make the old man happy.

Just then, the mechanical voice of the system rang in Ryōsuke's mind.

[CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HOST FOR OBTAINING A DESCENDANT. REWARD: ONE PRECIOUS CHEST.]

Ryōsuke was caught off guard. Yakushi Nonō, Yugito Nii, Mabui, Shizune, and Tsunade shouldn't be giving birth yet. If they were, someone would have notified him. That left Uzuki Yugao or Samui.

The probability of it being Samui was higher. It seemed he had successfully bestowed the Uchiha bloodline upon Samui—exactly what the Cloud Village had wanted.

'System, open the Precious Chest.'

[DING! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HOST FOR OBTAINING A SEALING TREASURE VASE.]

Ryōsuke was surprised. Another Sealing Treasure Vase. That meant he had another tool for sealing Tailed Beasts. It seemed he needed to find some time to head out of the village, wander around, and seal the Tailed Beasts before the Akatsuki could get their hands on them. He could only imagine the looks on their faces when they started their operation only to find all the Tailed Beasts missing. It would be a magnificent sight. Without the Tailed Beasts, their goals would be impossible to achieve.

Now that Samui had given birth, should he give her a bit more bloodline? Honestly, he missed the 'flavor' of Samui. He also needed to inform her of the child's name. According to his new system, the second child should be named Uchiha Niki.

Meanwhile, in the Cloud Village Medical Hospital.

Samui lay on her hospital bed, having just given birth. A doctor brought the crying infant to her side with a smile. "Congratulations, it's a boy."

Samui's feelings were complicated. There wasn't much to congratulate; this was the result of that man forcibly giving her the Uchiha bloodline. In truth, she hadn't really wanted it. But as she looked at the crying baby, she felt a bond of blood. After all, this was a piece of her own flesh and blood. It was a life. Since he was here, she would simply have to raise him well.

Shortly afterward, Mabui and Yugito Nii also gave birth—to two girls.

Yugito looked at her child with joy. The baby's eyelashes were beautiful, very much like her own.

On the other side, Mabui was a bit disappointed. 'Why isn't it a boy?'

If it were a boy, she could have provided him with many beautiful women when he grew up, cultivating a whole group of people with Uchiha blood. Even if the bloodline became diluted, someone would eventually awaken the Sharingan. With a girl, she would eventually have to find a man. Even if she planned to build an Uchiha family, she wouldn't allow her daughter to be reduced to a mere breeding tool. A boy would have been much more efficient for her plan.

'It seems I'll have to work harder next time and try for a boy,' she thought.

At the same time, she couldn't help but complain. Why did her daughter have to be named Mitsuki? And Yugito's daughter was named Shiki? Were those even names for girls? That man's taste in names was truly atrocious. Although she had protested, it had been useless. What baffled her even more was that Yugito had actually accepted it. Shiki... it sounded like a boy's name no matter how you heard it.
