Chapter 41 - Titan

The titan emerged fully from the manufactorum, her colossal form looming over the battlefield. Her armor gleamed, but it was the soft shimmer of her void shields that drew the eye—an invisible, wavering barrier of energy surrounding her massive frame. Ork cannons fired, hurling shells and crude explosives, but the blasts sizzled against the void shields, dispersing harmlessly in arcs of energy. Sparks lit the air, but the titan didn't even flinch.

Cătălin shouted from her shoulder, "Drones, intercept any Ork that tries to climb! The shields won't stop them if they get hands on the plating!"

The Orks, undeterred by the crackling energy barrier, tried to swarm, but the drones and the titan's main weapons made short work of them. Her void shields glimmered with each strike, absorbing both kinetic and energy attacks, while her arm-mounted cannons tore through barricades and cannon emplacements.

Daniel fired at the shoulder gaps, cutting down Orks foolish enough to risk climbing onto the titan. "Those shields are incredible!" he shouted. "Nothing from them touches us—only the ones who get too close!"

The titan pivoted, sweeping her shoulder-mounted guns, void shields rippling under the strain of near-misses. Missiles detonated harmlessly against the shimmering barrier, leaving nothing but scorch marks in the ground. The Orks' desperate assaults were obliterated before they could even reach the titan's legs.

Cătălin scanned the HUD, life-sign markers blinking red. "Hundreds… gone. She's annihilating them by the thousands, and the shields keep her safe."

The manufactorum gates behind her were crushed as if made of paper. Ork cannonballs fizzled harmlessly against the void shields, while the titan's weapons systematically decimated anything daring enough to remain in range. Every stomp, every sweep of her arms, every energy blast reinforced her unstoppable presence.

Daniel grinned. "And we're riding the storm. Nothing's surviving this day."
