Ning Wei took a deep breath as the door swung open.
The lights from the hall were too blinding, forcing Ning Wei to narrow her eyes to get used to her surroundings.
The music in the hall suddenly stopped.
Ning Wei felt a lump in her throat. She could feel that everyone was looking at her.
A gentle touch on her arm snapped Ning Wei out of her trance. Turning, Ning Wei saw her grandmother, smiling gently at her.
"Wei Wei." Peng Ying Tao's voice was a whisper. "Come on."
She blinked once. With her grandparents beside her, Ning Wei followed them further into the hall and up the stage.
A shaky smile curled on her lips.
She could see that there were hundreds of people in the room. Everyone who came here was curious about her. After all, she had been missing for years. Now that she had finally returned, everyone was interested in her.
Ning Wei looked everywhere in the room until she finally spotted a familiar face.
It was her mother, Qing Ke.
Her heart gradually calmed down.
