Chapter 33 - golden touch ball

Camilla alighted from the car and entered the compound. The moment she stepped into the house, she called, "Nanny! Nanny!"

"Madam!" the nanny replied, emerging from the study with Uriel in her hands.

Before Camilla could respond, the doorbell rang. She walked to the door and opened it.

"Who are you?" she asked, her face devoid of expression.

"Madam, we're here to prepare you for the ball."

Instantly, Camilla knew who had sent them. Without another word, she stepped aside and allowed them in.

The living room was modest in size, large enough to accommodate only six people, yet the team of stylists consisted of ten. Despite the cramped space, they worked with remarkable efficiency. Within an hour, Camilla's makeup was complete.

She was about to head to her wardrobe to choose a gown when the designer entered, carrying an exquisite collection of vintage dresses that had been shipped all the way from Paris.

"I'm terribly sorry for being late," the designer apologized. "The jewelry shipment was delayed."

Although surprised, Camilla maintained her composure. She selected one of the gowns and changed into it.

The stylists stared in admiration. It was not merely the gown that captivated them but the grace, elegance, and quiet confidence Camilla naturally exuded.

Moments later, she stepped outside, only to find a customized Mercedes-Benz parked in front of the house.

Ernest hurried forward and opened the rear door with a warm smile. Camilla returned the smile before gracefully slipping into the back seat.

"You look absolutely stunning," Ernest complimented.

Camilla smiled politely.

"Thank you."

The journey was peaceful, and Camilla leaned back, allowing herself a moment of relaxation.

Less than ten minutes later, the Mercedes came to a smooth stop before the magnificent Vine Villa.

Its grand black gates gleamed beneath the evening lights, adding to the elegance of the occasion.

Manuel stepped out first and walked around to open the door for Camilla. She carefully alighted, adjusting her gown to ensure it flowed perfectly.

Offering his arm, Manuel smiled.

Camilla accepted it without hesitation.

The reporters erupted into a frenzy. Camera flashes illuminated the night as they captured the arrival of one of the country's most influential business tycoons alongside the celebrated "Da Vinci" of the design industry.

Camilla carried herself with effortless elegance, while Manuel radiated confidence and authority.

After posing briefly on the red carpet, they entered the ballroom and took their seats.

The evening proved to be a remarkable success. Distinguished entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators exchanged ideas, and both Camilla and Manuel engaged in insightful conversations with several prominent figures in the business world.

As the event drew to a close, they exited the hall together.

"Excuse me," Manuel said. "I need to take this call."

Camilla nodded as he walked a short distance away.

"Miss Camilla?"

A gentleman's voice interrupted her thoughts.

She turned to see a well-dressed man approaching with a pleasant smile.

"I didn't know you were invited to tonight's event."

"I wasn't exactly invited," Camilla replied with a gentle smile. "I came as someone's plus-one."

"I see," the gentleman said thoughtfully. "And who might that be?"

Camilla simply pointed toward Manuel, who was still engaged in what appeared to be a serious phone conversation.

"Manuel?" the man repeated, genuine surprise flashing across his face.

Camilla studied him with curiosity. Unlike most people, the gentleman showed neither fear nor intimidation at the mention of Manuel's name.

Just then, Manuel ended his call.

Slipping his phone into his pocket, he turned and began walking toward them, his expression calm yet unreadable.
