Hearing him, Elise's relaxed demeanor immediately shifted.
She sat upright on the sofa opposite Chen Xi.
"Do you have questions for me? Are you asking about my origins?"
In recent days, Chen Xi had asked Elise nothing, which had made her uneasy.
Perhaps influenced by this body, Elise found it difficult to remain calm.
"I'm not interested in your origins."
After all, some things were already obvious without explanation. What was there left to ask?
"Then tell me—what do you think of me?"
Chen Xi had always known that the Five Great Gods wanted him eliminated, but he had never directly asked why. Did they see him as a threat, or believe he shouldn't exist?

"…You're a very good person. If it weren't for you, I might have died at sea."
Elise spoke after a moment of silence, her expression filled with genuine gratitude.
Chen Xi chuckled softly and leaned further back into the sofa.
"Miss Elise, some things are obvious. You don't need to flatter me with words like that—it's quite amusing!"
"I don't know what you mean by that. I'm being serious."
Elise frowned, clearly not understanding Chen Xi's remark.
Seeing her reaction, Chen Xi felt a bit bored.
He liked things to be interesting. If not, he didn't bother pursuing them.
"Miss Elise, we've taken you in for quite some time. During this period, you haven't really done anything at home. Sure, you've watered plants and helped clean, but anyone could do that—it's not uniquely your task."
"What do you mean? Are you trying to kick me out in this weather?"
Elise frowned. Though she hadn't explicitly stated it, her anger was obvious.
"Miss Elise is angry, but why?"
Chen Xi raised an eyebrow, pretending not to understand.
"I just feel I have no obligation to help you. I could send you to a shelter or the police; I'm sure they'd make proper arrangements for you."
After saying this, Chen Xi noticed Elise still frowning, so he didn't add anything further. Instead, he stood up.
"I'm going out for a while."
Chen Xi had originally intended to stay home, but suddenly thought it might be more interesting outside, so he went out to take a look.
Seeing him leave, Wanda quickly followed.
The weather was awful. Though Chen Xi might just want to clear his mind, she wanted to accompany him.
Before leaving, however, she wanted to make one thing clear to Elise.
She stopped and turned to Elise. "I don't know your true identity, nor why you came specifically to be near Chen Xi. But we have no obligation to help you, so leave this place as soon as possible."
After watching Chen Xi and Wanda's backs disappear, Elise's expression was full of confusion. She looked into the void.
"Maybe I should tell him the truth. He's clearly upset because he didn't get the answers he wanted."
"So, what do you think we should do next?"
"All of us have been observing what you've done during this time. We've noticed that you've achieved nothing—other than knowing that a few women are Chen Xi's weak points."
"But they're just a few women. Even if they're gone, there will be others."
"Truly useless. If I were by his side, perhaps I could have found more useful information."
