Damien cleared his throat and gestured for me to follow as Christian motioned toward the long golden table. "Please, gentlemen," Christian said smoothly, extending his hand toward the seats before sitting down himself.
Damien sat first, confident as always—his presence instantly commanding the room—then I followed, sitting quietly beside him.
"So," Christian said, leaning back slightly, his hazel eyes sharp and assessing, "what brings you here, gentlemen?"
Damien straightened, his tone calm but full of authority. "I am Alpha Damien of Riverdale Pack—King of all California."
Christian's reaction was… underwhelming.
He merely nodded. "Ah. Nice to meet you."
My stomach twisted. That was it? No bow, no flicker of surprise, no sign of respect? Damien is literally the King of California. His name alone should have carried weight here,
But I kept quiet. Now wasn't the time to challenge anyone's manners.
