Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Just a Touch for a Hundred Million Dollars

On the beach.

Wearing sunglasses and standard beachwear, Morin lay on a lounge chair, holding a split coconut and occasionally sipping through a straw.

He was bored.

No matter how interesting a place or activity was, it eventually lost its appeal. Morin had reached that point.

As for beautiful women... they were fine. After seeing and experiencing so many, he wasn't particularly interested anymore, unless they had a special identity. Someone like Gisele, with both looks and figure-and relevance to the plot.

Of course, this had nothing to do with physical problems. With his current body, that wasn't something he needed to worry about.

Morin thought back to his life before transmigration and felt a trace of nostalgia.

Back then, he had been an ordinary college student. Plain. Unremarkable. Like Louis Koo. A blank slate, filled with unrealistic fantasies.

He lived off the small amount of money he earned writing novels. Some went to his family to help with the mortgage. Some covered his daily expenses. A large portion went to supporting original authors whose works he read, out of principle.

He had finally graduated. Found a job. And then... well, no need to continue.

But fortune and misfortune really did walk together.

Who would have thought that kind of misfortune could lead to this kind of good luck?

Maybe one day, he could even find a way back. If that happened, based on the novels he used to read, he would probably gain some kind of time-travel ability. Go back to the very second he left. Seamless.

Either way, it was a profit. A massive one.

But for now...

What was he supposed to do?

Morin finished the coconut water and picked up a spoon, scraping out the flesh.

Then he heard a voice.

"You look bored."

"A little," Morin replied without turning around, still working on the coconut. "What are you doing here? Are the preparations done?"

Just from her voice, he knew who it was. After all, she was the only woman in this world he was currently interested in.

"More or less. I'm just missing one thing," Gisele said as she walked up behind him in a bikini, her tone teasing. "I'm not a multimillionaire. If I want money, I still have to work for it."

"That's fair," Morin nodded, shifting to the side of the two-person chair. "What's missing?"

"Reyes's palm print," Gisele said, lying down without the slightest hesitation.

"Without it, even if we get the vault, opening it will take too long. We don't have that time. We need to open it, split the money, and disappear."

"Smart," Morin said with a faint smile. "Dragging the whole vault away would probably kill Reyes from rage. The safest place turning into the most dangerous one." He paused. "But how do you plan to get close to him?"

"He'll be coming to the beach soon," Gisele explained. "He's meeting some business partners. They're nervous about him pulling all his money together and hunting Toretto's crew. The city's in chaos, so he's inviting them to relax and reassure them."

"This is our only chance."

"And your plan?" Morin asked.

"I just need to..." Gisele's hand slid slowly down her thigh. Smooth. Unhurried. It took its time reaching her toes. "This."

"Mm. A single touch for a hundred million?" Morin glanced at her long legs and casually slapped them. "I can handle that. And Reyes can pay the bill."

"I'm fine with that," Gisele said without objecting. In truth, she was quite interested in Morin. Compared to Reyes, the aging drug lord, Morin was far more appealing-handsome, fit, and rich.

"But," she added, not stopping his hand, her tone puzzled, "what exactly are you planning?"

"There are plenty of ways," Morin replied, picking up another coconut and handing it to her. "Depends on whether you want it fast or slow. Coconut water?"

She took it and drank. "Fast how? Slow how?"

"Fast is simple," Morin said. "Walk up, talk business, have a drink, get the palm print."

"And slow?"

"Gather evidence. Strip his power. Destroy him completely," Morin said flatly. "But I don't like illegal methods. And if I did it that way, you'd barely have anything to do. That's not ideal."

"You've thought this through," Gisele said with a faint smile. "So I'll take the fast way."

"Too fast isn't good either," Morin said meaningfully. "We still need preparation. Conveniently, I'm missing a secretary."

Work when there's work. And when there isn't-well. No rush. Priorities came first.

"A secretary?" Gisele raised an eyebrow. "Then I should change clothes."

"No need yet," Morin said, looking out at the sea. "We're here to relax. Talking business with him will be an impulse decision."

"That way, he won't have time to react. We get what we want faster." He added, "Besides, we're not approaching him just yet."

"How are you so good at this?" Gisele asked.

"Do enough business and you learn," Morin said lightly. "Most big deals are made in small places. Usually through 'coincidence.'"

"Everyone knows the rules. It just depends on whether they're willing to play."

"I suddenly think driving suits me better," Gisele said with a sigh. "All this back-and-forth is exhausting."

"Driving's good too," Morin replied, sighing as well-but in a way that annoyed her slightly. "I started as a mechanic. I haven't forgotten how. Fixing cars, modifying them, driving... those are some of the few hobbies I still have."

He leaned back.

"Being rich really does take a lot of the fun out of life."
