------------

There were only two tests in total, yet she had used charm magic three or four times.

Morin suspected Catrina had lied about the number. In reality, it was probably closer to eight or nine.

In other words, she was a textbook road menace.

Morin couldn't help but sigh.

Other road menaces at least had real driver's licenses. This one's license was fake. It was beyond saving.

What could he say?

The problem was easy to solve. Money handled it.

Soon enough, they were back on the road, leaving behind a car owner who was almost grateful for the crash and a vehicle with a slightly dented front.

Morin was driving. Catrina sat beside him.

"I have to say..." Bradley, waiting below, glanced at the car and laughed openly.

"You managed to wreck it like that? You finally met your match, huh? Hahaha!"

"Do you think this was my fault?" Morin chuckled.

"Why don't you ask Miss Catrina, who just got her driver's license?"

"Hm..." Bradley looked at Catrina and immediately changed his tone.

"It's a minor issue. New drivers make mistakes. Totally normal."

Morin wasn't surprised.

The old man had always treated him and Catrina differently.

The only difference from a year ago was the reason.

Back then, Bradley disliked Morin because he thought he was a playboy trying to flirt with Catrina.

A year later, Bradley still didn't like him much-but the reason had fundamentally changed.

After learning about Morin's magic and getting to know him better, Bradley's attitude flipped instantly.

Before, he guarded Catrina as if Morin were a thief.

Now, he practically wanted to hand her over.

Naturally, Morin refused on the spot.

He saw through it immediately.

This old man wanted to turn his moral compass into a shackle-make his adopted daughter Morin's responsibility.

Not happening.

Catrina was good-looking, had a great figure, and a decent personality. She was a perfect one-night stand.

But Bradley wanted her to be permanent.

How could Morin fall into a trap like that?

Flat refusal.

Sorry. He hadn't had enough fun yet.

So Bradley's attitude went from bad, to good, and back to bad again.

Same person. Different reasons.

"Alright, let's not talk about how many charm spells your adopted daughter used during her driving test," Morin said, half-exposing the truth while smoothly changing the topic.

"You said something changed?"

"Yes." Bradley nodded, turning serious.

"Follow me."

Morin and Catrina followed him upstairs into the office.

Bradley picked up a stack of A4 papers and handed them over.

"Oh..." Morin flipped through them carefully, his eyes narrowing.

"The Eye of Providence passed us some information," Bradley said, pointing to a page Morin had just turned to.

"This person-you know him well. Daniel Atlas."

"That's right." Morin nodded.

"Daniel's very controlling. With my guidance, his magic improved, but he relied on it too much and let his stage skills rust. So I ended the partnership and told him to go back to basics."

"Uh..." Catrina hesitated.

"Isn't magic a good thing?"

"It is," Morin said seriously, shaking his head.

"But relying on it alone isn't. A magician knowing a few spells is normal. But once your core tricks rot, you stop being a magician."

"Daniel has the qualifications to join the Eye of Providence. That was always his dream."

"Well said." Bradley nodded with clear satisfaction.

His approval of Morin grew by the second.

Perfect son-in-law material.

Too bad he was a womanizer.

Bradley sighed internally, his opinion slipping again.

Morin: "..."

I didn't even do anything.

"And what about these three?" Morin continued, pretending not to recognize the familiar faces.

"The Daniel Atlas you know, plus Jack Wilder, Merritt McKinney, and Henley Reeves," Bradley said.

"The four of them formed a performance group and received funding from Arthur Tressler."

"So..." Morin looked up, asking what he already knew.

"What's their goal? Are they working for Arthur, or targeting him?"

"Why do you think they're targeting him?" Bradley asked.

"Simple," Morin replied.

"Daniel isn't that kind of person. He was blinded by money before, but after my guidance, he straightened out. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone back to performing from scratch."

"But there's still a problem," Catrina said.

"If they're targeting Arthur, how? They're not members of the Eye of Providence."

"That's exactly the issue," Bradley said grimly.

"Our intel confirms Arthur is their target. And during the investigation, we discovered they received an invitation from the Eye of Providence."

"Interesting." Morin's interest was obvious.

"So Arthur is their trial target, but the invitation itself is fake?"

"You guessed it," Bradley nodded.

"They've been deceived."

"So someone is impersonating the Eye of Providence and using aspiring magicians for their own agenda?" Catrina said in surprise.

"That's our conclusion for now," Bradley replied.

"And if their target hadn't overlapped with yours, we might not have noticed at all."

"So what now?" Morin asked.

"What does the organization want? Do we switch targets, or stay the course?"

"We stick with Arthur," Bradley said.

"But we're adding objectives. Besides dealing with Arthur, you must identify the mastermind impersonating the Eye of Providence."

"Using the Eye's name is unacceptable."

"That makes sense," Morin nodded.

"Arthur deserves it. But next time, the target might not."

Bradley stared at Morin in silence.

Something felt off.

This kid wasn't arguing.

No resistance. No sarcasm. Full cooperation.

He even offered a reasonable analysis and accepted the task immediately.

Too smooth.

Bradley narrowed his eyes and glanced at Catrina, recalling her slightly strange posture earlier.

...Did Morin do something he shouldn't have?

"What kind of nonsense are you thinking now?" Morin said, looking at Bradley's face, which clearly screamed you're suspicious, she's suspicious, everyone's suspicious.

"Can we focus on work?"

"Ahem-right!" Bradley coughed.

"Then it's settled. I'll send you all the intel we have."

"In two days, Daniel and the Four Horsemen are performing at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. That's likely their first move."

"So... should we attend?"

"Hm." Morin thought for a moment.

"We can. I actually have a faster option."

"A phone call would do it. But to earn all four of their trust-and flush out the mastermind..."

He paused.

"Forget it. Let's go to the show."

"Perfect," Morin said, eyes narrowing.

"Let's see how much little Daniel has grown."

In truth, if Morin were serious, this could've been resolved instantly.

He could've gone straight to Rhodes, dealt with him, explained everything, and ended it cleanly.

But he wouldn't.

Partly to keep things interesting.

And partly because aligning Daniel's group with his and Catrina's actions would multiply the payoff.

Arthur wouldn't keep all his money in one account.

In the movie, even after one account was drained, Arthur immediately pulled another ten million to hire Bradley.

Morin planned to take his time.

And squeeze Arthur for everything he had.
