----------------------------------------------------------
The moment Aqua cast her blessing magic, Emiya, Kazuma Sato, and Darkness all felt different degrees of stat increases.
It was as if their bodies had suddenly grown stronger.
This wasn't an illusion. Their stats had truly risen, and their strength followed naturally.
"Darkness, go."
The moment Emiya spoke, Darkness shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bow, longsword raised.
She looked like an unmatched general charging into battle alone.
No one would guess that this unmatched general couldn't hit her enemies.
But that didn't matter.
The instant Darkness rushed out, she startled the goblins hiding in the forest.
The goblins panicked when they saw an enemy suddenly charging them, especially a beautiful female knight.
The wild demi-humans rushed forward without hesitation, trying to grab Darkness and completely ignoring their surroundings.
"Your turn, Kazuma."
"Leave it to me."
Seeing the goblins distracted by Darkness, Kazuma Sato circled around and attacked from behind.
Emiya paused for a moment and didn't charge in. Instead, he stayed by Aqua's side, scanning the surroundings.
His priority was protecting Aqua.
After all, Aqua had no real combat power. Her God Blow only worked well on ghosts and demons.
Against goblins, it wasn't very effective.
If a goblin suddenly jumped out and attacked Aqua, Emiya would have failed his role.
Even so, while standing still, his telekinetic hand flew out.
It lightly grabbed a goblin's head and twisted.
Snap.
With a crisp sound, the goblin's head was torn off by invisible force.
At the same time, Kazuma Sato rushed behind another goblin and swung the Damascus blade in his hand.
Pssh!
Like a hot knife through butter, the goblin's head flew off.
Kazuma Sato had learned the One-Handed Sword skill, and with the sharpness of the Damascus blade, this was effortless.
After killing the first enemy, he moved to the second without hesitation.
By the time the goblins realized someone was behind them, it was already too late.
They were cut down one after another by Kazuma Sato.
Emiya's telekinetic hand twisted off the head of yet another goblin.
As for Darkness, despite being unable to hit anything, she performed her role perfectly.
She kept the goblins' attention entirely on herself.
This battle could only be described as overwhelming.
From first contact to the end, it lasted barely over a minute.
Every goblin present was wiped out.
Once the fighting ended, Emiya and Aqua stepped out from their hiding spot.
Aqua looked at the goblin corpses scattered across the ground. Instead of disgust, she put her hands on her hips and spoke proudly.
"So? How was my magic?"
Kazuma Sato jumped in place, feeling light and nimble. He looked at Aqua with renewed respect.
"I never thought your magic would be this useful."
"Of course."
Aqua puffed out her chest even more.
"From now on, if you want to enjoy my magic, you'd better call me Lady Aqua."
"Lady Aqua."
Kazuma Sato said it without hesitation.
Emiya rolled his eyes and didn't bother arguing with the two of them.
Nearby, Darkness stood quietly, looking somewhat disappointed.
"That was too fast," she muttered.
Emiya was speechless.
She was clearly complaining that the battle ended too quickly and she hadn't gotten to enjoy being attacked.
He had almost forgotten.
She was mentally challenged in a different way.
Now they were just missing one more mentally challenged mage to complete the original party.
The one-shot mage.
Megumin.
Of course, "one-shot" meant that she could wipe out most enemies with a single Explosion spell, and then collapse immediately afterward.
"All right, let's keep moving."
Emiya told Kazuma Sato to collect the loot and led everyone forward.
Their quest was to hunt goblins.
Eight goblins weren't enough to finish it.
They needed to find the goblins' cave and eliminate everything inside.
Only then would the quest be complete.
They followed the trail left by the goblins and continued deeper into the forest.
About twenty minutes later, Emiya's group found the goblins' lair.
A cave hidden among the trees.
Two goblins wielding long knives guarded the entrance.
And inside the cave, there were many more.
Emiya immediately used Detect Foe.
Besides the two guards outside, there were around a dozen goblins inside the cave.
Including the eight they had already killed, the cave housed at least twenty goblins.
A small goblin tribe.
After observing for a moment, Emiya withdrew his gaze.
"I'll take out the two guards first," he said calmly. "Then, Darkness, you rush in."
"No problem. Leave it to me."
Darkness seemed to imagine something. Her face flushed as she patted her chest.
Emiya didn't ask and pretended not to notice.
"Once you're inside, try to send the goblins flying."
Darkness lowered her voice shyly. "I mean... I can't actually hit them."
"I know," Emiya replied. "I don't mean with your weapon."
He patted her shoulder.
"I mean with your body."
"With your defense, goblins can't hurt you. Just charge through and knock them away. Ramming them is fine."
"You can do that."
Darkness's breathing grew heavy.
Her face wasn't the only thing turning red. Even her neck flushed.
She grabbed Emiya's hand tightly.
"Of course I can! I promise! Please, please, please let me do it!"
Kazuma Sato stared at her with open disgust.
This person was beyond saving.
Emiya nodded.
His telekinetic hand shot out and snapped the necks of the two goblin guards.
"Go, Darkness."
She launched forward and rushed into the cave in an instant.
Moments later, goblin screams echoed from within.
Emiya turned and looked at Kazuma Sato, signaling with his eyes.
It was his turn.
Kazuma Sato activated Lurk and quietly moved toward the cave.
