Chapter 381: Li Yao's Personal Kamui Dimension
"Sigh, how boring."
Inside the interspatial layer, after accompanying Naruto around the village ruins and failing to see any signs of discord between him and the Konoha survivors, Li Yao lost interest in watching the show.
He also lost the desire to secretly spread the news that Naruto had deliberately let Nagato go.
So be it.
Li Yao turned and left.
"Where are you going?"
"Stop!"
Li Yao's sudden departure made Jiraiya—still worried about Naruto—suddenly realize that the real enemy was not Nagato, but this devil, Li Yao.
The one who truly threatened the safety of the shinobi world was Li Yao, not Nagato.
Now that this devil was suddenly leaving, Jiraiya didn't believe for a second that Li Yao had no further plans.
Maybe it was instinct, or maybe something else.
Either way, Jiraiya felt the danger in Li Yao's departure—a danger that could once again bring devastating consequences to Konoha.
Unfortunately, Jiraiya could do nothing. All he could do was watch as Li Yao vanished into the interspatial space.
…
A sky of deep blue, with cotton-like white clouds hanging motionless above.
Beneath the sky stood towering skyscrapers, suspended midair with no visible ground beneath them, as if floating in the sky.
The sky was bright, but the sun was nowhere to be seen.
On the rooftop of one of these buildings, space suddenly twisted, and Li Yao's figure emerged from the distortion.
This was Li Yao's personal Kamui dimension.
After obtaining the chakra of dual Kamui Mangekyō, he had discovered this dimension, one that was bound to him.
That's right—bound.
Kamui chakra was a special kind of spatial chakra that could manifest a dimension unique to its user.
Everything within this space reflected some deep emotional state of the user.
Obito's Kamui dimension was dark and deep, illuminated only by pillars of light—a reflection of his internal conflict: though he had fallen into darkness, there still remained a sliver of light in his heart named Rin.
Li Yao's Kamui space, with its blue sky, white clouds, and endless bright skyscrapers, likely reflected his deep desire for sunlight—for returning to the real world.
Despite his twisted personality, Li Yao's inner self was actually quite positive. Had he not suffered through half a year of torment, he might have grown into someone cheerful and sunny, like Minato.
Unfortunately, reality had changed him. But his inner yearning hadn't. He was just a bit twisted in how he took revenge.
Deep inside, Li Yao still saw himself as a sunny, cheerful young man.
And now, this so-called sunny, cheerful young man was about to begin his Ten-Tails jinchūriki plan.
With his intervention, who knew how many fewer people might die in this Naruto world?
Though Konoha might suffer a bit—well, that couldn't be helped. After all, he was originally from Konoha.
"Flying Thunder God Jutsu!"
With a smile, Li Yao focused his thoughts. In an instant, Obito's clone teleported in using the Flying Thunder God technique.
"Here."
Li Yao plucked the Rinnegan from his own eyes and handed them to Obito's clone. His body flashed with white-violet lightning, and after using the Time Reversal Ninjutsu, he reverted to the state before implanting the Rinnegan.
Obito's clone removed his Kamui Mangekyō eyes and destroyed them. He no longer needed them to use Kamui. Li Yao had already mastered even the Uchiha clan's forbidden techniques—Izanagi and Izanami. The Kamui eyes were now useless to the clone.
If not for concerns about accidents during the Ten-Tails jinchūriki process, even the Rinnegan wouldn't be needed—Li Yao already had full mastery over all of Madara's Rinnegan abilities.
But to ensure everything went smoothly, giving the clone the Rinnegan was still the safer move.
Once implanted, the clone used Wood Release chakra to heal himself and quickly adapted to the Rinnegan's power.
"Let's begin," Li Yao said with satisfaction, nodding at the clone.
"Leave it to me," Obito's clone replied with a smile before vanishing with the Flying Thunder God technique.
Li Yao also left, returning to Konoha to await the final showdown.
At that moment, in the White Zetsu cultivation base on the Kyōkaku Peninsula, Black Zetsu was frantically searching for Obito.
"Damn it!!!"
"Where the hell did Obito go?!"
Black Zetsu's face was filled with panic and anxiety. This time, he was genuinely alarmed.
Everything had been going fine with Nagato's attack on Konoha.
Then suddenly, Nagato's Six Paths of Pain lost control—as if Nagato had been killed. Next, those same bodies lit up with white-violet lightning and completely regenerated.
The White Zetsu accompanying Nagato was sure—that white-violet chakra wasn't from Nagato, nor from the Rinnegan.
White Zetsu had immediately moved in closer to monitor Nagato.
And then the terrifying part began.
A barrier suddenly enveloped the tree hollow where Nagato was located, blocking all sensory detection. It didn't last long, and by the time White Zetsu tried to break in, the barrier was gone. Nagato was alive and apparently fine.
With their limited intelligence, White Zetsu didn't think much of it. Or rather, even if they did, it wouldn't have helped. Their primary duty was to ensure Nagato and the Rinnegan were safe—especially the Rinnegan. As long as the eyes remained in monitored territory, there wasn't much else they could do.
In battle, White Zetsu was decent against weaker targets, but utterly useless against powerful enemies.
Then, not long after Nagato and Konan left Konoha, their chakra signatures completely vanished. No matter how hard they tried, the White Zetsu couldn't find a trace of either of them.
Panic quickly spread, and the information was rushed back to Black Zetsu.
Upon receiving it, and thinking about the white-violet lightning and the sudden appearance-disappearance of the sensory-blocking barrier, Black Zetsu immediately realized—Nagato might be dead, and the Rinnegan had likely fallen into unknown hands.
As for who could bypass Zetsu's sensory detection and kill both Nagato and Konan, Black Zetsu's first thought was the terrifying, mysterious man they encountered in the Land of Lightning.
That mysterious figure possessed not only overwhelming physical prowess, but also terrifying concealment abilities. And for all these days, not a single White Zetsu had been able to locate him.
If someone that powerful and well-hidden had taken the Rinnegan—what if he destroyed it?
Even if he didn't, what if that bastard simply remained hidden?
Who knew how long he had already been hiding before? What if he vanished again for decades? At that point, the Rinnegan might as well be lost forever.
Without immense chakra and a special bloodline to sustain it, the Rinnegan couldn't last for decades on its own.
That's why Black Zetsu was panicking.
And in the midst of his panic, Obito had vanished too.
Ever since they sealed the Eight-Tails into the Gedo Statue, Obito had been holed up in Kamui space. No one knew what he was doing.
They were supposed to meet up today—but now Obito was nowhere to be found.
Black Zetsu was so anxious he was about to start cursing.
Buzz!
Just as Black Zetsu was about to send out White Zetsu to search, space twisted outside the base, and Obito's clone emerged.
Sensing his chakra, Black Zetsu immediately used his ability to travel swiftly through the ground and popped up before him.
