As we flew back to the city, flying lower to get the attention of everyone in the outer settlement, we landed a bit away and climbed off the giant echo quickly de-Summoning it back to his soul sea, Gemma dismissed the other four hunters and told me to come with him to report to Gunlaug.
Aa Gemma knocked on the giant doors of the bright lord's chambers, soon we heard a "come in" and so we entered as I stood to Gemma's right side and further back I didint make a sound as Gemma reported the success of his ambitious mission, surprisingly Gemma and Gunloug shared a couple of laughs like they were old friend soon though Gunlaug noticed me and beckoned me forward.
"So you are naruto ?" I nodded not staring at my own reflection on his golden Armour.
Letting out a small chuckle he asked, "aren't you a little young ?" I raised a brow at the attempt st small talk " I am younger than most" I replied
He leaned his head to the side similarly like myself when listening "and how old are you then?"
"I am sixteen" at this Gemma and Gunlaugh shared a look. "While that is quite interesting you are here for a different reason" as I raised my brow once more "and what would that reason be?",
"How would you like to become my sixth lieutenant and the leader of the pathfinders?" As he paused to acesa my expression he continued "you see Gemma as the leader of two branches is quite a busy man and requested a split in leadership" I nodded showing that I'm listening "and recently he notified me of a young what seemed to be prodigy and so wa made a test" aa I realized the whole hunt was a setup I couldn't feel dumber 'ofcourse they wouldn't want to hunt a fallen monster on a whim'
"And you passed the test, even killed the creature" Gunlaug continued "so I would like to ask you" he poused " to become my sixth lieutenant the leader of the pathfinders" he poused looking at me expecting something "do you accept?" As I weight the pros and cons of such a position I thought of an idea "I don't think I'm skilled enough" as Gemma and Gunlaugh stared at me like I'm stupid I continued speaking "I'm not a leader while I may have the skills to track and the raw power to kill creatures I do not have any training with any of the weapons" I poused taking a breath "so I would like to ask for training before accepting such a position", as Gunlaug and Gemma went a further back to talk privately I didint feel a need to listen to them soon they came back and confirmed that they would find a few people who could train him with the usage of daggers and sword.
Yesterday I finished my training and I was now approaching Gunlaug's chambers this time alone since Gemma was already there, knocking on the door and hearing a "enter" I opened the door stepping in and quickly closing it while turning to face Gunlaug and Gemma.
"Do accept the position now ?" Appearently Gunlaug didint like wasting his time as he asked me without any small talk,
"I do" I simply replied voice even.
As Gemma and Gunlaug broke out into grins Gunlaug de-summoned his armor that didint behave like a normal memory should, they opened a chest on the far side and pulled out several bottles of what looked to be alcohol as I stared at the two most powerful sleepers chatting like teenagers, they called me over and gave me a glass "drink" they simply said surprisingly it was horrible tasting a bit sweet even and soon they let me on their plan to leave the forgotten shore.
The next day I got out of my bed that I didint remember getting into I washed myself and entered the gathering hall where the announcement of his new role would be revealed,
Soon Gunlaug and his lieutenants entered and took their positions judging by their expressions they weren't aware of this.
"My precious wards!" Gunlaugh shouted "today is a great day" as the silent murmurs began about another trial everyone quickly went silent as Gunlaug stood up "today is a great day indeed! Because today we welcome a new lieutenant into out midst" as the peoples eyes widened and the lieutenants looked around except Gemma of course. As Gunlaug motioned for me to make an entrance he started speaking again "greet our new leader of the pathfinders, Naruto!" As I walked next to Gemma and stopped I could hear people clapping mostly out of fear but some knew him from these past few months apparently as a trustable and honorable person he only scoffed at the notion of honor in the dream realm soon the ceremony ended and we walked to the "war room" to explain the situation to the other lieutenants i could help but hear Seishan curse under her breath, immeadetly my eyes narrowed at her but I played it off and continued walking.
