Kairen nodded and snapped his fingers, instantly summoning about a hundred Shadow Clones who began rummaging through the debris.
"Here! Over here! Get some people over here!"
Canon wore a commander's cap and was shouting orders in total chaos.
Doctor Snake and the Scholar went down into the underground lab beneath a tree. Not long after, Doctor Snake brought a scroll back to Kairen.
It was a Wood Release ninjutsu scroll—one Kairen had exchanged for using his merit points earlier.
When Kairen opened it, he found it filled with various Wood Release techniques.
Sarutobi Hiruzen had believed Kairen would never awaken Wood Release, so he had basically given him every Wood Release ninjutsu the village possessed.
Kairen grinned. That worked out perfectly—he wouldn't have to waste experience points exchanging for new Wood Release jutsu now.
He looked over the techniques written on the scroll.

Kairen stumbled into a heap of junk and began rummaging through it.
"Huh?"
He found a photograph and pulled it out.
It was a group picture—upon closer inspection, it was Senju Hashirama, Uchiha Madara, and their companions.
Wait... did they even have cameras back then? Probably—they still had Hashirama's portrait in the Hokage building, after all.
Hashirama stood proudly in the center, smiling brightly, his hands resting on the shoulders of two men.
One was the white-haired Senju Tobirama, the other Uchiha Madara. Both wore scowls, each turning his head away as if refusing to look at the other.
A red-haired woman with a bun covered her mouth as she laughed softly—that was Uzumaki Mito.
"A photo from the First Hokage's era—this is a real treasure!" Kairen exclaimed, quickly tucking it away.
He continued digging through the pile.
Surely there were still valuable things among the Senju family's relics. Tobirama had been known as the master of forbidden techniques; his research notes and writings had to be precious.
Unlike Jiraiya's... questionable novels and "notes."
After a while of searching, Kairen found a scroll labeled as a ninjutsu. Opening it, he read:
