Chapter 159 - Chapter 159: Beyond the Abyss

Dark purple and azure light intertwined on Dvalin's body. They wrapped around each other, devoured each other, and fought for control of Dvalin's body.

Dvalin's dragon eyes returned to a verdant green, but beneath that green, there was no hint of vitality.

In the depths of those eyes, the azure Wind Dragon once again confronted the corrupted Demonic Dragon after five hundred years.

It was a pure white space, a pristine white, without a trace of defilement.

"Why? Why? Beautiful dragon, I just wanted to play happily."

"I just wanted to hear happy songs, to tell you about Mother. I wanted to tell you how beautiful the place I came from was."

"Why? Why! Beautiful dragon! Why did you sink your fangs into my neck! Why did you bury me in the snow-capped mountains!"

The corrupted Demonic Dragon continued to utter its whispers, repeated countless times. It was the deepest resentment of the Demonic Dragon named "Durin."

In the last moments of his life, Durin awoke from his dream and fell from the unblemished Sky, carrying a long-cherished last wish.

His deepest resentment, however, seeped into Dvalin's body along with the toxic blood.

"Why? Why! Tell me! Dragon!!!" Durin's resentment flickered, wavered, and charged towards Dvalin.

The phantom-like shadow was unexpectedly resilient. Black and red dragon claws sank deep into Dvalin's body, and through the gaps in the claws, black and red poison continuously poured into Dvalin's body.

"Roar—" Dvalin felt a searing pain. He looked at his broken dragon claws, then through his eyes, gazed at the nearly collapsed Domain.

Something instantly filled Dvalin's mind. It was etched deeper than the resentment of the toxic blood, it flowed faster than the freedom of the wind, and its name was "fury."

"Pfft—" The dragon claws embedded in Dvalin's body tore out huge gashes as he thrashed, disregarding the pain and his injuries.

An endless stream of Anemo element flowed from the wounds on Dvalin's body, thick like blood.

"Roar—" But Dvalin paid no attention to this. He roared and charged at Durin's resentment, firmly trampling it underfoot.

Fear of the toxic blood had long been cast aside by Dvalin. If his dragon claws shattered, he would condense wind into sharp blades; if the Demonic Dragon tried to escape, he would use his mouth as well!

It wasn't just the Abyss that could turn life into a beast.

"Your happiness brought endless suffering!"

"Your mother could even deceive her own children!"

"Beneath your feet lie countless dead who couldn't even find a place for burial!"

It was merely a clash of consciousness, but when Dvalin's fangs sank into the shadow, deep toxic black blood splattered; when his wind claws flew, dark brown flesh flew.

Black blood now covered Dvalin's body. The poison corroded him, and countless black mists rose, carrying away Dvalin's flesh and blood.

Durin's resentment beneath Dvalin also struggled ceaselessly; its fangs and claws were no less formidable than Dvalin's.

In the struggle, Dvalin's body also accumulated dense wounds. But none of this stopped Dvalin's biting. He now had only one thought—to tear apart the "Durin" before him!

"Five hundred years ago, you nearly destroyed Mondstadt, and now you want to destroy me! Resentment? What right do you have to resent!!!"

"The pain in your eyes is laughter, the cries you hear are poetry; all of this is your mother deceiving you!"

"You resent me? What right do you have to resent me! I will not only tear you apart, I will also tear apart your mother!!!"

Dvalin opened his massive maw, still retaining some flesh and blood, and bit into the neck of Durin's resentment.

Then came endless wind, a poem woven from a thousand winds, dancing, blowing, and sweeping away all darkness from his mouth.

"Ah—" Durin's resentment beneath Dvalin let out a sharp and ear-piercing scream.

Its flesh and blood were swept by the endless wind, and the resounding winds of freedom, while carrying away the resentment, also released what had long been imprisoned within Durin's body.

When the darkness receded, what appeared was a pure white young dragon.

"Mama… Mama didn't lie to me… it was… it was me who wanted to go out."

The pure white young dragon curled up in front of Dvalin, still muttering something. Its body trembled constantly, as if afraid of something.

"Yes! Yes! I ran out on my own, Mama didn't lie to me! Mama wouldn't lie to me!" As if finding a suitable reason, the young dragon began to repeat this sentence continuously.

It was as if saying it enough times would make it true.

"I ran out, I'm sorry, don't blame Mama; I'm sorry, don't blame Mama; I'm sorry…"

Dvalin looked at the young dragon before him, no bigger than his palm, and his extended claws stopped.

His blood-stained face twisted repeatedly. He was contemplating whether to kill this young dragon just like this.

The pure white young dragon was Durin; he could figure that out with his butt. As for why Durin was born from the shredded resentment, Dvalin didn't know.

It was true that Durin had brought great calamity to Mondstadt, but Dvalin knew that everything Durin did was in a false dream. And his own mind was no different from a child's.

If Durin were still in the midst of destruction, Dvalin could kill him without hesitation; but now that he was utterly defenseless, Dvalin hesitated.

Dvalin hadn't realized that after tearing apart Durin's resentment, his consciousness had regained control of his body.

The struggle on his face was now directly reflected on his dragon face.

The restless wind began to calm, and the Abyss Mages, sensing this, opened their eyes in shock, eyes they had closed in resignation.

"Stormterror? Not corroded?!" The Pyro Abyss Mage seemed to have seen something he couldn't believe and immediately stood up to look into the Domain.

He peered through the eye of the wind and saw the mostly collapsed platform, the twisted face of Stormterror, and the much-dimmed toxic blood clots behind him.

"How is this possible! How is this possible!" The Pyro Abyss Mage clutched his head, as if this scene shattered some understanding in his mind.

"Then go ask him, aren't you on good terms with Stormterror?" The Electro Abyss Mage skipped over, saying casually.

Isn't it good to be alive? Why is the Pyro Abyss Mage still acting like he's dying? If you have questions, go ask! Anyway, they're on good terms with Stormterror.

"Why aren't you guys surprised at all!" The Pyro Abyss Mage suddenly reacted. He turned to look at the skipping Electro Abyss Mage, and the Cryo Abyss Mage and Hydro Abyss Mage who were grooming each other, asking with equal shock.

"Why are you so jumpy? You weren't like this when you escaped death before?" The Hydro Abyss Mage was startled by the Pyro Abyss Mage, then said:

"What's so strange about this? Stormterror is very powerful, and The Order is very powerful. When two very powerful things fight, it's normal for one to win, isn't it?"

"You all think that?" The Pyro Abyss Mage looked at the Cryo Abyss Mage and Electro Abyss Mage with a shocked expression, his eyes filled with both anticipation and apprehension.

"More or less."

"The Order isn't invincible, is it?"

"Hahaha, no wonder we could meet!" The Pyro Abyss Mage immediately burst into laughter upon hearing the other Abyss Mages' responses.

In the hearts of the monsters of the Abyss Order, the power of the Abyss was supreme and omnipotent. The great plan of The Order would surely be realized.

The Pyro Abyss Mage had long discovered his difference from his other companions. He didn't view the power of the Abyss as so mighty, nor was he particularly concerned with the profound and grand plans of The Order.

Over time, he had become a marginalized existence within The Order. The blasphemy in the Pyro Abyss Mage's heart had always been buried deep within him.

But he never expected to meet his "companions" now, even though his companions were most likely saying this because they were truly foolish.

And the other Abyss Mages, seeing the Pyro Abyss Mage's inexplicable laughter, were also bewildered. Had he taken the wrong medicine again?

...The tower in Stormterror's Lair is very tall, but there are things taller than the tower.

Yu Jin lay on a white cloud, making his hands into the shape of binoculars. In his eyes, he saw the scene of Stormterror's struggle and the Pyro Abyss Mage's boisterous laughter.

As for why he could lie on a white cloud? That was fake, of course! Yu Jin was just flying level in the Sky.

As for why he was hiding in the clouds, it was because he thought it was better to hide when peeping.

The four street ruffians, who daily stole eggs and blocked wells with Slimes, found new targets.

The Wind Dragon, corroded by toxic blood, also cleared most of the poison from his body. And by the way, Albedo's good brother also burst out.

"Hmm, everything is developing in a good direction." Yu Jin thought this and nodded in satisfaction.
