"Can you devour this Stellaron?" Leon asked.
Phantylia replied, "I've never tried."
"Whether you can or not, this thing is yours now."
He remembered this thing being stuffed into the protagonist's body before, and it seemed like a boss in the beginner village with some epic BGM also
used it to transform.
But its specific use was never really shown.
Leon couldn't be bothered to think about it.
External objects would always be external objects; he had no use for them.
Might as well just let Phantylia keep it. It was one way of harmlessly disposing of it.
Phantylia gave him a surprised look.
What, this son of a bitch is actually paying me?
Even though it's something he doesn't want, it's still like the sun rising in the west.
He used to just take without ever giving anything back.
Heliobus curse
Just thinking about it made her angry.
Ever since following this bastard Leon, Phantylia's days were spent either facing life-and-death situations or on the way
to one.
He'd throw her into the line of fire for any reason or no reason. Doesn't he know that can get someone killed?
She couldn't take it! A magnificent Lord Ravager like her, reduced to being as subservient as a dog!
Damn it, I really want to run away!
Hey, Trailblazers! Hurry up and save me!
Just do it for my sake! Declare war on Leon and the Xianzhou Alliance!
"Loyalty! Can the general's kindness ever be repaid?"
But no matter how much Phantylia wanted to pack up and run, her underlying programming was unbeatable.
Changyeyue glanced at Phantylia.
A Lord of Destruction...
This was also one of March 7th's uncertain futures.
But that's probably impossible now.
Changyeyue's eyes shifted slightly, sizing up her companion from the corner of her eye.
After all, The Hunt had already reaped the rewards.
"By the way, take this back."
Looking at his incredibly handsome face, she was suddenly reminded of something.
"What?"
The moment Leon spoke, Mikhail's top hat flew at his face.
He caught it with ease, resisting the urge to quip, "You know, you don't have to shout to get my DPS's attention."
"Next time you wear it, can you please get March a matching outfit?"
Changyeyue accused him of having no fashion sense.
"Roger that."
Placing the hat on his head, Leon could only comply, basically giving a +1 in the family group chat.
As they chatted, the two didn't stop walking.
Soon, they arrived at the spot where Misha had previously met Gallagher.
Changyeyue stopped.
She raised her hand, and a large, ice-blue door made of translucent ice crystals appeared before them.
"This is as far as I go with you."
she said, having constructed a path to Dreamflux Reef.
"When will I see you again?"
Leon understood what she meant and asked.
Sharing one body was indeed quite troublesome.
Not to mention they hadn't planned a schedule, like who gets Monday-Wednesday-Friday and who gets Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday.
Furthermore, Changyeyue usually didn't want to disturb March 7th's life, which made seeing her quite difficult.
He liked Changyeyue because he liked strong people.
Especially the kind of powerhouse that made everything look effortless.
Remembrance plus Enigmata—the overpowered nature of these two Paths needed no further explanation.
"At the opportune moment."
The door Changyeyue was holding open vanished in an instant. She hadn't given a precise answer.
"Catch."
Those were the last words she said before she departed.
"Catch what..." The word hadn't even left his mouth.
When he saw March 7th falling backward, Leon knew the answer.
His body followed his eyes as he moved forward.
His strong arms easily caught the girl's back, preventing her from hitting the ground.
"The Path of Enigmata is just too useful, you know?"
Leon looked at the girl's hair, long a moment ago and now short.
Even her hair color and outfit had changed. He could only marvel at how miraculous the methods of Enigmata truly were.
The power of Enigmata was like an AI; input a command and you get what you want.
AI is just too useful, you know?
March 7th's eyelashes trembled, and her closed eyes slowly opened.
Confused, dazed, her clear pupils reflected the familiar face she knew so well.
Just like the first time they met.
From the moment she gained self-awareness, the first person she saw upon opening her eyes was him.
The seventh of March, year 2157 of the Amber Era.
On that day, she met a person named Leon, and also received her own name.
With his help, the person known as March 7th left her own color on the blank canvas of the world for the first time.
Because of him, March 7th would forever remember that day.
The irises in the fish tank changed with the sunlight.
Their meeting and their friendship were both an accident.
But March 7th now felt that this accident could perhaps last forever.
"What did you dream about, March?"
Leon asked, meeting her gaze.
"You," March 7th answered instinctively.
"Then I hope you weren't fooled by an imposter."
Leon wasn't surprised.
Her world had gradually expanded with him as its foundation. Who else could it have been?
March 7th gave a small nod.
"Good girl."
Leon patted her head, then helped her up.
"We came to Penacony and didn't get to do anything fun."
Leon didn't like dreams, but he couldn't deny that this place was an excellent tourist spot.
"Once we're done with business, let's explore every corner of it together."
He had spent this entire visit fighting.
He had unintentionally neglected March 7th. She probably hadn't even taken many pictures, so her travel experience must have been terrible.
That wouldn't do.
Leon knew well that taking pictures to commemorate moments had a special meaning for March 7th. The photos she took were proof she had been there,
and more than that, they were her new 'Memories'.
Although he could solve things himself.
It was an undeniable fact that March 7th had asked Changyeyue to intervene for his sake.
He should express his gratitude.
After reporting to Gallagher, they could relax a bit before setting off for the next stop.
Leon thought to himself.
As for where the next stop was, he had no idea.
Anyway, he would just go wherever The Hunt pointed him, and along the way, he'd continue the search for the Astral Express.
These were Leon's plans for the immediate future.
"Okay."
March 7th didn't refuse, nodding eagerly.
Actually, she didn't think her travel experience was bad at all.
He was one among thousands of stars, but to her, he was the entire world.
When the whole world was right beside her, what landscape could possibly compare?
...
The trio had to be complete.
Now that their objective was accomplished, it was naturally time to leave.
...
Dreamflux Reef.
"Old man, you Nameless are really something else."
Gallagher stood beside Mikhail's body, remarking with emotion.
"You've turned Penacony's world upside down once again."
As a creation of Enigmata,
Gallagher could naturally sense that the power of Enigmata that had just appeared in Penacony was no less than that of his creator.
Due to his own nature, his memories hadn't been erased.
Gallagher truly hadn't expected the young lady beside Leon to be such a powerful being.
What a surprise.
"Mikhail, oh Mikhail."
Gallagher murmured to himself.
"The things you were concerned about have been resolved by your successor. You can finally rest in peace now."
Only they knew how difficult this journey had been.
"Yes, it's all over."
Leon's voice came from behind.
Gallagher turned to see the young ranger appear before him once more.
And with him, the Emanator of Enigmata.
"On behalf of everyone who was temporarily defeated in the revolution back then, I express my gratitude to you."
Seeing him arrive, Gallagher turned and bowed.
"It was my duty."
Leon nodded in acknowledgment.
"Why have you come this time?" Gallagher asked, straightening up.
"To bid farewell to the two seniors I never had the chance to meet."
Leon had thought Changyeyue might have erased his memories too and was planning to remind him that Penacony had been saved.
Now it seemed that wasn't necessary.
"Then follow me."
Gallagher knew who he was talking about.
"Tielnan and Lazalina's graves are this way."
Leon walked forward to catch up.
The two chatted before the graves.
"If Tielnan were still alive, you would have been his successor."
Gallagher's words were filled with reminiscence.
"He was the Express's guard, with a personality just like yours, hating evil as if it were a personal enemy."
"Everyone used to joke that if he hadn't become a Nameless, he would have become a famous Galaxy Ranger, delivering justice freely
and fearlessly."
Gallagher spoke with a smile.
"Lazalina, the Express's cartographer, acted as the caretaker of the three. Many of their fantastic ideas were
realized with her help."
"She was the first to detect Memoria. Half of Penacony's current prosperity is thanks to her."
As Gallagher spoke, his voice grew choked with emotion.
"If, and I'm just saying if..."
"If the Astral Express is still out there, and if they come to Penacony one day, please, could you let the Express
sound its whistle for them one more time?"
Gallagher wiped his face, seemingly embarrassed to be shedding tears at his age.
Leon took off his hat and held it to his chest.
He bowed his head slightly toward the three graves before him, as if in admiration of their great deeds.
March 7th raised her camera and took a picture of the moment.
"Before that happens..."
Having done all this, Leon straightened up.
"Hound, you have to live well for them."
Once Leon made a promise, he would surely keep it.
He would find the Astral Express and bring its true successors to meet these three.
"Don't worry. As long as Penacony stands, so will I."
Gallagher took a deep breath, calmed himself, and replied.
"This is the place Mikhail loved. I must protect it well for him."
"We're leaving."
Leon didn't have much else to do.
He just came to say goodbye and, while he was at it, find out the names of the other two Nameless.
After all, they were heroes too.
It wouldn't be right for only Mikhail's name to re-emerge from history while theirs remained silent in the past.
...
Penacony.
He was just about to take March 7th for a tour of the land of dreams.
When he ran into Robin and Sunday, who had come looking for him.
"Mr. Ranger~"
The little bird greeted him familiarly.
Sunday, however, was silent, trailing behind her like a child who had done something wrong.
Why wasn't he talking? Was it because he didn't like to?
"Hey, Kun, has The Family's understanding of the Stellaron reached the point of mastery?"
Leon ignored the greeting and looked at Sunday as he asked.
He never remembered real names, only calling people by their features.
The chicken-winged boy, wasn't that just 'Kunkun'?
Sounds like a 2.5-year prison sentence.
"...There is still much that is not understood."
Sunday was silent for a long moment before replying.
"Then why did you still choose to do it?"
Leon asked again.
Sunday remained silent.
"Brother, have you forgotten who took our mother's life and our homeland from us?"
Robin didn't understand either.
As someone who had experienced it firsthand, her brother should have known the dangers of the Stellaron better than anyone. So why did he agree to
this plan?
"...Mr. Gopherwood said he had a solution."
"Do you believe that yourself?"
Sunday didn't answer.
He must have believed it, because the future described by the Dream Master was his own vision.
When people get carried away, they don't listen to reason.
"Do you think you did something wrong?"
Sunday remained silent.
"You have some self-awareness, at least."
Hearing these words, Sunday was slightly stunned.
He didn't understand what he meant.
"That's right, you weren't wrong. You were only wrong in that your stats weren't high enough."
His ideals didn't clash with Leon's, so of course he wasn't wrong.
To put it bluntly, this paradise was a matter of mutual consent.
Those who wanted out, like Robin, couldn't be trapped by any dream.
For those who didn't want to leave, there was nothing more to be said.
Not to mention that Sunday's ideals, in a sense, overlapped with those of the Galaxy Rangers—both wanted to create a
world without injustice and oppression.
"In this world, there is no right or wrong, only the size of one's fist."
Leon continued.
"If you could completely control the Stellaron, then what you did would have been right."
Leon's meaning was clear.
"But if you don't have that ability, then you were wrong."
If you have the power, what you do is right. If you don't, what you do is wrong.
"Work on it. Try to be like me, able to smash the whole world with one punch."
Believe it or not, he really thought so.
If the Dream Master could fully harness the Stellaron, Mikhail certainly wouldn't have had any objections.
But to take on a delicate job without the necessary skills, dragging everyone down into the fire with you, that's clearly
your fault.
"This is the path you chose for yourself, brother."
Robin actually respected his decision and wished him well.
"I won't comment on it too much."
"But you absolutely cannot impose your ideals on the people without first listening to their voices."
Robin said seriously.
This applied to her as well.
Everyone has their own dreams in life. She certainly couldn't force everyone to believe in Harmony.
That would be wrong.
...
For a moment, Sunday didn't know what to say.
He had expected to be met with a barrage of insults, perhaps even sharp accusations of being a sinner for all time.
But the result was the complete opposite. There was criticism, but it wasn't harsh.
"...I will go and atone for my sins personally."
But just as Leon said,
even if his ideals weren't wrong, his actions this time were still wrong.
He didn't have the ability.
Yet he still strapped a time bomb called a 'Stellaron' to everyone.
Sunday would not shy away from his own sins.
He would personally repay everything, until he was fully redeemed.
"Speaking of which."
Leon wasn't concerned about that and started talking to the little bird again.
"You've come at the right time. I was looking for you about something."
Hearing this, Robin was quite surprised:
"What a coincidence. I was also looking for you, Mr. Ranger."
"Hm?"
Something to do with me?
"You first?"
"I want to invite the Xianzhou Alliance to become the new governing authority of Penacony."
Robin said, word by word.
