At the end of August, after hearing that Sienna Thornton had had her baby, Maeve and Donovan Hawthorne took some time off from recording Maeve's new album in New York to fly back home.
Before going to the postpartum care center to visit Sienna, Maeve first went back to her old home in Z City with Donovan. It was the first time she'd ever brought a man in front of her parents' memorial tablets. Besides wanting Donovan to understand the family she came from, it was also because she felt Donovan was someone she could trust.
They stayed one night at her old home. When Maeve came out from her shower and saw Donovan lying on the bed Gage Grant had once slept in, she went a little dazed. Those six months with Gage came crashing back in on her all at once.
When she'd been at her lowest, it was Gage who had stayed with her, here in this very room. In this home, apart from the memories of her parents, all that was left were memories of Gage.
