Hades was certain he hadn't kept his violet eyes far from Evangeline for too long. When her wagon first arrived, he had seen it with his eyes and made sure she had entered peacefully without a hurdle.
Then for a few minutes, a bothersome bug had appeared in his room, sent by the newly titled crown prince to teach him a lesson; but that wasn't far too difficult for him to take care. So after he was done with the bugs, he went ahead to change his shirt, this time to a black one that perhaps won't get dirty if blood everywhere soaked it again.
So he was pleasantly surprised to see that when he moved from behind the door screen that the girl whose heart had been thumping so loudly to his eardrums were none other than Evangeline— the only person he wanted to see throughout this entire ball.
Yet when he noticed her presence, the rim of her eyes were red.
Odd.
