HARPER
Our Thanksgiving yesterday turned out just as I wanted.
After leaving the Fletchers' residence with the kids, we returned home and had a better day. Mrs Smith had prepared the meal beforehand, which came in handy. What made last night even more enjoyable was that we strictly observed the tradition despite the tension we left behind.
Now, I was at work, alone. Dominic said he had something important to attend to and wouldn't be going with me. I should be happy. He wouldn't be here to disrupt my day, yet I somewhat missed him.
I stepped into the office to see my Boss's face buried deep in some paperwork. He looked exhausted. Barely like the polished and controlled man I had come to know.
"Good morning, Sir," I said.
