Harper's gaze moved from me to Olivia, then back to Olivia again. Something shifted in her eyes, but I couldn't quite place what it was. She scoffed, her lips twisting in disgust.
That look did something to me. I hated it.
Hated the way she looked at me like I had done something unforgivable, as if I was the guilty one, when in reality, this woman was the one trying to ruin everything.
Maybe she had known Harper was coming and decided to drop the bomb now.
I doubted she was even pregnant.
I mean, one night I could barely remember wouldn't lead to that… right?
"Where is my—" Harper trailed off. Her narrowed gaze shifted away from me, and I followed it.
She was looking at Nico. His face lit up instantly, and he pulled free from Mila's grip.
"Mama!" he shouted, running toward her.
Harper stepped forward too.
