I mentally kicked myself. Twice.
But that did nothing to stop the spinning in my head. I took a deep breath and slowly let it out through pursed lips, my body tingling as the effect of the brandy washed over me.
"What not?" Dominic asked, his hand closing around mine over the glass.
My tongue slipped out to lick my bottom lip. I lifted my gaze to meet him, and instantly, the confusion on his face shifted into a smirk.
His striking blue eyes gleamed as he looked down at me. "Are you going to jump on the bed now and spread your legs wide for me, baby?" He said in a deep voice, his index finger brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "I know no one has ever been able to make you feel as good as I did."
I shuddered involuntarily at the boldness of his words.
God, I was so stupid.
What exactly had I been trying to prove by downing that much liquor?
That I wasn't affected by him?
