Morpheus infused a portion of the Power of Light into the orb, purifying the yokai's malice, leaving only their primal essence.
A trace of his Power of Light remained within.
The two forces intertwined like a yin and yang, perfectly fused.
He tossed the orb to Tsurara Oikawa.
Catching it, she immediately felt the immense power within.
It was an exceptionally pure energy.
With it, her yokai aura surged uncontrollably, expanding several times in an instant.
She felt stronger than ever before.
With this, she might even dare to challenge Rikuo Nura himself.
Stammering, Tsurara asked, "W-what is this thing?"
She couldn't fathom why it amplified her yokai aura so dramatically.
"You've heard of the Shikon Jewel, right?" Morpheus said calmly.
This world had the Higurashi Shrine, so the events of Inuyasha must have occurred, meaning the Shikon Jewel existed.
Kotoko Iwanaga nodded. "Yes, I've heard of it. Forged by the powerful miko Kikyo in her battles against countless yokai, fusing her soul with theirs. It's a sacred jewel brimming with spiritual power."
"Any yokai who possesses it gains immense strength."
Morpheus nodded, pointing to the orb in Tsurara's hand. "This is a replica I crafted, modeled after the Shikon Jewel."
"It's not as potent as the original, but it can still boost a yokai's power."
"You can call it the Twin Soul Jewel."
"It's made from the yokai's essence and my own power."
"Consider it my gift to the Nura Clan."
Tsurara looked down at the Twin Soul Jewel, hesitating. "Lord Morpheus, isn't this a bit too valuable?"
Even if it paled compared to the Shikon Jewel, it was still an extraordinary treasure.
The Nura Clan had only captured some man-eating yokai—such a reward seemed excessive.
Morpheus waved it off. "It's just a trinket, nothing special."
Tsurara gave a wry smile. As expected of someone who could defeat their Supreme Commander with a single finger. To him, such a precious item was merely a "trinket."
The gap between them was vast.
"In that case, I'll accept it on behalf of the Supreme Commander."
Tsurara took a deep breath, bowed to Morpheus, and accepted the gift without further protest.
Kubinashi, watching this, looked at Morpheus with newfound respect.
He'd initially thought Morpheus was just using the Nura Clan as grunt labor.
He figured their efforts might go unrewarded.
They'd had no choice but to comply, having been defeated by Morpheus, lest he wipe them out.
But he hadn't expected Morpheus to offer such a generous reward.
This guy wasn't the jerk he'd thought. He'd misjudged him. Kubinashi's tense expression softened.
He wanted to apologize but couldn't find the words. In the end, caught in his conflicted thoughts, Tsurara pulled him away, and they left the abandoned building.
After the Nura Clan departed, Kotoko Iwanaga bowed to Morpheus. "I'll take my leave as well, Lord Morpheus."
"Please await my good news. I'll find your attacker as quickly as possible."
Morpheus nodded. "I'm counting on you."
Kotoko returned the nod, said, "No trouble at all," and turned to leave.
As she exited the abandoned building, she couldn't help but give a wry smile.
The world really was a chaotic mess—anything absurd could happen.
She'd come to stop the Nura Clan's actions, yet somehow ended up a follower of a deity, granted immense power.
Unbelievable. Inconceivable.
The bad news: she now had someone above her calling the shots.
The good news: this deity was generous. When he gave power, he gave power.
She was now at least three times stronger than before.
A blessing in disguise, perhaps.
Back in the abandoned building, Morpheus noticed Kotoko's slight resistance to him.
It was subtle, but there.
He didn't mind. With time, he was confident he could dissolve her reluctance, and she'd become a true follower.
After all, he doubted any deity was as generous as he was.
Time passed, and morning arrived.
Morpheus sent his clone to school while he headed early to the Umbrella Corporation's Tokyo branch.
As soon as he arrived, he received bad news.
Someone had infiltrated the Tokyo branch.
Paracelsus, who had stayed late researching a new virus, reported the breach. He'd spotted the intruder but hadn't acted, knowing they likely had accomplices.
Catching the intruder might alert their allies.
Instead, he pretended to notice nothing, turned into spirit form, and tailed the intruder to their hideout.
Morpheus, intrigued, asked, "Who are they?"
Paracelsus replied, "Umbrella Corporation people."
"What?" Morpheus blinked.
Paracelsus repeated, "Umbrella Corporation people."
Morpheus caught on. "You mean Umbrella Corporation people infiltrated their own Tokyo branch?"
"Exactly," Paracelsus said. "I overheard them. They're from headquarters, sent to investigate the Tokyo branch. They suspect something's off."
"Interesting." Morpheus rubbed his chin.
He'd had a video conference with headquarters yesterday morning, and by evening, someone had infiltrated the branch.
Had headquarters already caught on?
Was Wesker that sharp?
Morpheus thought he'd performed well in the meeting, but apparently, he'd still aroused Wesker's suspicions. The guy was no slouch.
Of course, it was also possible his acting was just that bad.
