Chapter 35 - Power changes?

Teo looked down at himself thinking. His father looked at me from behind him, his glare softening by an imperceptible amount. Teo looked back up at me and asked "How would you heal me?"

"I would remove the damage and replace the parts I removed. My steel can remake it all and you will be standing again in days, walking in months." I answered. They didn't have the knowledge to understand it and I wouldn't waste time trying to make them understand. He looked back at his father then turned to me and gave me a resolute nod.

Three hours later I stood unarmored in Teo's room. I had the boy lying on his stomach with his lower body covered by a blanket. The Gaang was observing as Teo's father and the 'towns' healer assisted me. I created a simple drip and put it in the boy. After a few minutes he was completely out. I quickly cut open his back and began carefully removing the damaged parts of his spine.

I pulled a simple 'flesh replicator' from my storage and inserted his damaged nerves and multiple other samples. A few hours later and I had the spinal nerves grown anew. I inserted them and attached them with nanobots. Another hour of time and my atomic valence radii oscillator had healed the nerves. I put the bones back in place, fixed up a few more things, and sealed it all together with stimpatches. My stimpatches were based on bacta patches but used stimpack medicine to heal.

As the patches did their work I cleaned up and put the boy on a strong nutrition drip. After cleaning up I removed the patches and sewed the boys back up. A full stimpack was injected and I prescribed the boy movement training then light exercise. I gave his father high protein food pills and left the room for his father to wake him. After a few days of helping around the temple and assisting the boy's recovery I finally got an answer from the Gaang.

I'd been in the process of introducing multiple modern techniques and simple technologies to the mechanist and Sokka. I heard someone approach me and suddenly heard Aang practically shout "Yes!" I turned to look at him and raised an eyebrow in question. He caught onto my unasked question and spoke. "Yes, you can travel with us. You don't need to pay us for it as long as you can take care of yourself." As Aang stopped Sokka started. "Your teaching and such would however be welcome as we aren't all that experienced in what you mentioned."

I nodded and gave Sokka a smirk. He was clever, dull most of the time but a genius at points. I'd been giving the mechanist and his people books. They gradually ascended all the way to basic electronics such as wind and solar generators. Sokka had quickly understood anything that didn't have a lot of math involved.

After detailing multiple things in books I quickly wrote about I helped the Gaang pack supplies. I snatched every non-perishable food item I could and stuffed it away for the Gaang. I even tagged Appa, which made Aang mad before I explained what it was. I gave him a small wristwatch with a screen that would allow him to track Appa and his health condition.

Before we left I had the mechanist remake the grappling chains propulsion system to fire APHE rounds in case they ever needed to defend themselves again. As we flew away from the temple we were escorted by a basic airplane with a compressed fuel based, turbine engine. The mechanist was certainly a genius of his craft.

We flew continuously for a few days till I suggested Aang and Katara expand an iceberg to let Appa rest. Instead of tiring out Appa and getting caught by the water tribe we flew right up to their wall. We were let through a few hours later and we found ourselves at a celebratory feast. The night went much like it had gone in the show and I began preparing for the oncoming battle against the idiot who wanted to kill one, if not two, fundamental spirits in their physical forms.

As I prepared a hole in the ice wall surrounding the two spirits little area I mostly ignored the Gaang. I trained Sokka on what I knew of using a sword and some other weapons and had him train against soldiers of the tribe. He gradually got better as I prepared to eliminate Zhao. My plan was to let things play out as they had in the show and let Aang go on a rampage. I grabbed Zuko after he beat Katara and had her put him in a thick block of ice after I cuffed him with beskar handcuffs.

When Zhao and the following Iroh arrived I handed Zuko to the old man and tossed him the key. I trusted him to keep Zuko out of the fight. As Zhao attempted to monologue I activated my sandy and appeared behind him. My large cutting machete of beskar sliced down at him. However he managed to somehow dodge. The instincts and reaction times of the people of this world were excellent. The idiot blasted me with fire as I attempted to take his head. Suddenly Iroh joined and slammed him into a wall with fire. I jammed my blade through his heart and pinned him to the ice wall.

With Zhao dead Iroh took Zuko and left. After Aang left his spirit stuff both he and Katara were a bit miffed with me but Chief Arnook explained that I had simply 'removed a threat to the spirits.' Sokka on the other hand dragged me away for more combat lessons. He was a quick learner when I simply beat the lessons into him. We stayed for a few days at the city and during that time I made sure the Gaang had the proper supplies and even made some Aang specific nutrient pills. As a vegetarian in this world he didn't have a very good diet so I made enough pills to last him a couple years.

Alongside Pakku, we'd beaten the need for a sidearm into Katara. She now carried a small parrying dagger in case she had no water or simply couldn't use it. As we prepared to leave I got the feeling of a transition. It was weird. Why was I getting a transition now. I'd barely been here for more than a week.

I immediately began to prepare for my transition and ran around the city gathering anything that might be useful for me. I even collected multiple genetic samples from the mashup animals of this world.

We left the water tribe early in the morning and flew for multiple days to an earth kingdom base. The Gaang was a bit sad to see me leave so I left them all with some things. Aang of course had the tracking watch for Appa and his new nutrition pills, so I simply made a better glider for him as I knew his current one would get destroyed at some point.

I gave Katara a small expanded box with tons of supplies and an expanded bag to hold massive amounts of water. Sokka got the rest of the books I had written and basic light armor made of durasteel. I made my way into the mountains while contemplating why my power had put me here for such a short time. As soon as I felt I was far enough away from the others I pulled out my mech and climbed in.

As I hooked up to the mech its sensor started blaring warnings. I fully connected to the mech and locked my sights on the approaching entity. I felt with my multiple powers the being charging at me more than I could sense it. My sensors simply registered an unidentifiable object approaching at high speed. Trees were knocked down and shrubbery was crushed as what I assumed to be a spirit charged me.

I was thrown through the forest as something hit me. I fired every weapon I had in the vague direction of my enemy as I stood and backed away from the undetectable presence. A massive boulder suddenly lifted and shot through multiple trees at me. I dove and fired where the rock had come from.

As I stood I was lifted from the ground and smashed back down. Two unseen hands latched onto my legs and two more pairs grabbed my arms and body. A single yank sheered away my legs as I activated the self destruct on my limbs. My shell of a body landed upright and my emergency ejection launched me above the trees. My personal jets activated to steady me. I was once again thrown away as my mech bodies self destruct erased half the forest below me and I was flung even higher. My rockets cut for a moment and I fell.
