My vision went red.
A blinding rage took over me and I madly charged at the Scokytocles standing over Meg.
"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM HER!" I roared and drove my fist straight through the stomach of the first one with a sickening wet crunch, soaking my fist in purple blood.
The other Scokytocles backed away in horror but I wasn't stopping.
Blood roared in my ears.
I leapt at him and ripped his head clean off its body with my bare hands.
In less than thirty seconds, I had two dead Scokytocles at my feet.
"My poison…" Vorthul said in my head, for the first time, his voice stunned, "My poison backfired?"
I didn't know what he was talking about—nor did I care.
I crouched over Meg who was lying sideways with the bloodstained sword still embedded in her belly.
I already knew not to pull it out or she'll bleed out in seconds but it was still horrible to see.
"Meg." I managed.
I felt so helpless and desperate.
