Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Surviving the Storm, The Ignition of Polar Opposites

📍 Location: City Streets → Celeste Tower Rooftop → UNDEAD Lounge → Practice Studio

🏃💹 The Great Escape

"Damn it, we should've brought bodyguards!" Raito panted, his sneakers pounding against the pavement.

Tsuki yanked him sharply around a corner, their footsteps echoing like drumbeats in the narrow alley.

"Don't talk! Just run!!" Tsuki snapped—his voice low, urgent.

And so they ran—

two streaks of motion down the winding city streets, sunlight glinting off Tsuki's black hair, Raito's laughter oddly bright despite the chaos.

Behind them? A full-on idol manhunt.

Paparazzi on bikes.

Fans with selfie sticks like lances.

A cameraman tripping over a vending machine and still filming from the ground.*

"POLAR OPPOSITES! OVER HERE!"

"ARE YOU REALLY COLLABING WITH UNDEAD?!"

"HOLD HANDS FOR THE CAMERA!!"

Raito twisted mid-run: "We ARE holding hands—!"

"SHUT UP AND TURN FORWARD BEFORE YOU GET US KILLED!" Tsuki roared.

They swerved around a corner into a narrow shopping arcade, dodging umbrellas and startled shoppers. Tsuki didn't slow—he knew these streets from years of avoiding attention long before he was famous.

Then—

A flash of white fabric ahead.

A figure stepped calmly into view at the end of the alleyway... arms crossed...

wearing sunglasses despite it being partially cloudy...

and holding what looked suspiciously like—

...a matching black-and-silver slap stick?

Tsuki's eyes narrowed to slits as they skidded to a halt.

Eichi Tenshouin.

Still smiling softly... still unnervingly composed...

"...You took your time," Eichi said coolly. "I sent you that note for a reason."

Raito gasped for breath: "Whoa... you're my angel..."

Tsuki yanked his hand back instantly and shot Eichi a sharp look:

"Next time... just call us."

Eichi chuckled—and tapped his earpiece lightly:

"Where's the fun in that?"

đŸŒ™đŸ–€

Behind them, the paparazzi crashed headfirst into an umbrella stand...

while fans screamed about "THE MYSTIC MEETING OF MOONS AND LEGENDS!!" on social media within 0.2 seconds flat.

🚁 Above the Clouds

"No need," Eichi replied smoothly, glancing at the chaos behind them. "I have a helicopter."

The moment left Tsuki's lips—sharp, desperate, utterly uncharacteristic—

"Please take us!"

—a beat of silence hung in the air.

Raito blinked.

Eichi tilted his head.

The moon had cracked.

But survival was more important than pride.

"Chopper's on the roof of Celeste Tower. Five minutes and we're off-grid," Eichi smiled.

"WE'RE GOING IN A HELICOPTER?!" Raito shot up like a rocket.

"Only if you stop screaming," Tsuki growled, already dragging him forward.

As they moved, Eichi whispered just loud enough for Tsuki to hear:

"Don't worry...

I ran from worse when I was your age.

Fame doesn't chase you forever...

...it waits for you to look back."

Tsuki didn't respond.

But he gripped Raito's wrist tighter this time—

not to escape...

but to make sure nothing got left behind.

High above Yumenosaki City now, rotors spinning into rhythm,

three figures rose above the noise,

above the cameras,

above dreams built on fragile stages...

Tsuki sat by the window, arms crossed.

"Riding in a helicopter is better than being chased by wolves..."

He paused, then shot Raito a dead-serious look.

"...but only if the pilot isn't an Idol with questionable life choices."

"Eichi's not questionable! He's legendary!" Raito defended.

From the front seat, Eichi chuckled: "I've crash-landed three times. All on purpose."

"Of course you have," Tsuki deadpanned.

👑 The Arrival

They staggered out of the chopper onto the rooftop helipad, legs like wobbling noodles.

"Never... let... me... run... that much... again!" Raito panted.

"You'll live... probably," Tsuki muttered, leaning against the wall.

Raito sprawled out dramatically on the concrete: "I'm... dead... Tell my fans... I loved them..."

Tsuki collapsed next to him, one arm draped over his forehead.

"...We escaped paparazzi... only to be murdered by your stamina."

"Ah," Eichi stepped out calmly. "The legendary collapse of Sun and Moon. Fitting."

Ding.

The elevator doors opened.

"So you finally showed up," a low voice echoed.

UNDEAD stepped into view—

Koga grinning like an idiot,

Kaoru rolling his eyes,

Rei analyzing every bruise,

Adonis folding his arms with quiet approval:

"You ran far.

Now let's see if you can stand... and sing."

Tsuki lifted one hand weakly into the air—

giving a single middle finger salute toward fate itself before letting it drop again with a thud.

đŸ„– The Waiter's Revenge

"Carry us.... please senpais"

Koga laughed and bent down, slinging Tsuki over his shoulder like he was carrying sacks of potatoes.

"I am never going outside again without disguises," Tsuki mumbled. "Too many fans. Too much everything."

"Agreed... I need a vacation," Raito sighed from Adonis' back.

"You two are like old men," Koga barked a laugh.

"Shut up, wolf boy."

As they reached the lounge, Tsuki lifted his head just enough to glare sideways at Raito:

"Oh, you'll see cameras again... After all... idols have photoshoots."

He dragged out the last word like a curse.

"Dude, he's already in character!" Koga grinned. "The mysterious anti-idol who speaks only in death glares!"

"I like him," Kaoru smirked.

Rei narrowed his eyes slightly: "He understands pain. Good."

đŸ± Snack Wars: Feral Mode Activated

The second the snacks hit the table—crispy mochi, melon sodas, choco-sticks—chaos erupted.

Raito lunged forward: "MINE!"—shoveling food into his mouth like he'd been stranded on a desert island.

Tsuki operated with precision: One hand gripping the cold can of melon soda... sucking through the straw... eyes half-lidded...

"I have regained 12% power," he declared solemnly.

"That's it? One soda?" Kaoru raised an eyebrow.

"This isn't about calories. It's about survival," Tsuki replied flatly.

"First comes snacks... then comes strength... then comes glory!" Raito nodded sagely.

The Demand:

"GIVE US MORE!!" they shouted in perfect sync.

"Calm down," Kaoru sighed.

"Give us the drinks and food..." Tsuki's voice dropped low, dangerously calm. "...Or we'll eat you instead."

Beside him, Raito looked like a starving raccoon: "I've tasted despair... Now I crave melon soda."

UNDEAD exchanged glances.

"Bro is actually feral now," Koga laughed.

"They've entered idol starvation mode," Rei nodded once. "Feed them... or risk extinction."

Tsuki slowly raised the Slap Stick into the air like a weapon of mass destruction.

"One more delay... and I use it on all of you."

"FINE! FINE! MORE SNACKS!" Kaoru threw his hands up.

"WE DEMAND A BUFFET!" Raito cheered.

"...Acceptable terms," Tsuki lowered the stick. "But add melon soda... or consequences."

And somewhere far away? Eichi Tenshouin sipped tea, watching through security feeds:

"...Yes. They are definitely going to burn Yumenosaki down."

😮 Rest Before the Storm

Raito collapsed first, a satisfied grin on his grease-stained face.

"Full battery..." he mumbled, instantly falling into a food coma.

Tsuki finished the last of his snacks and laid beside him.

Raito flung an arm over Tsuki's chest like a claiming tentacle.

Tsuki didn't push it off. Too tired. Too... peaceful.

"...If paparazzi take pictures of this... I'll burn their cameras down," he whispered.

"Aww. They're sharing body heat," Koga cooed.

"It's inefficient," Rei huffed.

"Let them rest," Adonis said softly. "Tomorrow begins real training."

Polar Opposites hadn't sung a single note yet...

but Fate had already hit play.

⚡ Ignition

The Next Morning - Practice Studio

Sunlight sliced through blinds like stage spotlights.

The bass thrummed through the floorboards.

"You survived snacks," Adonis' voice resonated through the room. "Now see if you survive this."

CLICK.

Kaoru tossed them earpieces.

MUSIC EXPLODED.

đŸ”„ A fast-paced fusion beat — traditional taiko drums clashing against electronic synths — echoing through steel walls like war drums awakening.

"First rule of UNDEAD collabs?" Koga smirked, gripping his guitar.

"You don't follow rhythm...

...YOU BECOME IT!"

Adonis moved first — powerful and precise — every step shaking dust from ceiling tiles.

Rei followed — fluid as shadow water —

And suddenly...

Tsuki's body reacted before his brain caught up: matching footwork without thinking... turning just right... syncing breaths to bass drops...

Raito? Not so smooth. He tripped over air three times.

But then—

A hand grabbed Raito's wrist mid-stumble...

firmly.

Tsuki pulled him back on beat, eyes locked forward:

"Stop thinking.

Just move."

And somehow?

The sun followed the moon...

step by step...

light learning from shadow...

FINAL POSE.

đŸ”„ Hands high. Heads down. Lights flaring red above them đŸ”„

Silence fell for one heartbeat—

"Not bad," Koga clapped once. 😏

"...Survivable," Kaoru nodded.

"Potential detected," Rei muttered.

Adonis stepped forward slowly—and placed two laminated passes into their hands.

On it?

Two golden words glowing beneath film finish:

✹ FULL PARTICIPATION APPROVED ✹

Yumenosaki wouldn't know what hit it...

Because today wasn't just training day anymore.

It was ignition.

Polar Opposites had entered UNDEAD's world...

and instead of being crushed by its weight?

They were learning how to burn alongside it.
