Iris:
"Then why? Why do you make it so hard? Why can't we just close this distance between us?" he whispered as he leaned closer to my face.
For a second, as I breathed heavily, I wavered, thinking he was not wrong, until I remembered Lara.
"Because I still have not found a good reason why you fucking cheated on me," I finished, then slowly freed myself from him. Thankfully, he let me go.
"I don't care if you did it for power or anything else. The bottom line is that you cheated on me. You chose power over me, Kash. And because of that, I have been through horrible shit for the past few years," I finished, then sniffled.
He stayed still and, thankfully, did not say anything.
Then he walked out. As always, he had no answer for his cheating.
I dropped onto the hard floor and started to sob. For some reason, I was still standing where I had been five years ago, and I hated every second of it.
