Lara:
For the next few seconds, we ate in silence. At least, I did.
I watched them play around.
She filled my father's plate as if he had never been fed before, like she was the only one who could take care of him.
"Daddy, there has been an issue in the pack house. Would you like to go and check it out later?" I said to my father in a loud voice so the woman sitting beside him would know that I knew far more about the pack than she ever would.
She picked up on it because she raised her head to look at us.
"Is everything okay?" my father questioned, starting to fill my plate with food.
"Yes, some pack issues. Some data-related problems. It would be better if you go and check it out yourself," I replied, continuing to eat my food.
"Yeah, sure. I'll check it out," my father responded, not suspecting anything.
There was honestly no issue. The only issue was that I had to get rid of my father for a while.
