Lara:
"See, I told you. I did all of it," I said to the monster, trying to look for her in the water.
The voice was coming from a distance, and although I was very curious to see her, I was not dumb enough to get into the water to look at her. The last time I had looked at her, I had realized that beauty could also be very dangerous.
"That is true. I went upstairs after their mother passed out," I began, recalling the moment.
"I filled the tub with cold water and placed both the children in it." A faint smile touched my lips.
"I stayed there and watched them die. I did not even blink because I did not want to miss their misery." My gaze remained distant as the memory settled in.
"Then I went ahead and finished my dinner."
As I spoke, the entire incident replayed in my mind. A gentle smile lingered on my lips as I remembered how well I had done it, and how easy it had been.
