Chapter 242 - Chapter 241: Run, Barry, Run!

Underworld.

With a Flash of magic light, Barry Allen emerged from a void cavity, falling directly to the ground.

Barry cautiously got up, hugging his arms, feeling a bit chilly.

Suddenly, he felt an itch on his back and couldn't help but reach back to scratch it.

With that scratch, he felt something metallic. He brought it to his eyes.

What is this thing?

Barry looked at the round metal object in his hand, somewhat puzzled.

But the next moment, the metal disc in his hand instantly sprouted six insect-like legs, and the entire disc unfolded and transformed.

A scanning beam shot out from its eye-like parts, scanning Barry Allen from head to toe.

Then Barry heard the metallic insect emit a mechanical voice.

"Intelligent life locked. Target: Barry Allen; Codename: Flash (The Flash), genetic lock confirmed."

"Flash?" Barry stared blankly at the metal insect, giggling foolishly.

"Is it talking about me?" Then he seemed to savor it: "The Flash, that name is so cool, who came up with it?"

The metallic insect's indicator light flashed, and it replied: "The target's codename was assigned by the main control unit, Shazam."

"Shazam!!!" Barry let out a long gasp.

"He already knows about me?"

"Yes," the metallic insect said matter-of-factly.

"Then what are you?"

"I am your intelligent control system, and also your battle suit."

"Battle suit?" Barry was even more surprised.

The metallic insect then jumped from Barry's palm to his chest; he was still naked.

After contacting Barry's chest, it quickly spread out like other nanoparticles.

Starting from the chest, it rapidly spread throughout his body, finally forming an angular red battle suit.

On the chest of this battle suit was a yellow lightning bolt symbol.

This battle suit was designed by Dane, referencing the style from the movie Justice League; it was an initial version, and he had some new ideas for later.

As for the tight-fitting battle suit in the standalone Flash movie, well… whoever was the art director for that movie should be fired!

Barry Allen raised his hands to his eyes, cautiously touching the red battle suit. The metallic texture was cold, but it couldn't hide the warmth in his heart.

Barry's mouth opened to an extremely exaggerated degree, and he couldn't help but groan in admiration: "It's so beautiful~"

"Thank you for your compliment."

The metallic insect's mechanical voice rang in his ear, pulling Barry's attention back.

"I mean it, this battle suit is amazing~!"

"It will be even better when you run!" the metallic insect said with a hint of pride.

Hearing this, Barry couldn't help but want to try it.

"Can I run a bit then?"

"Of course you can."

So Barry smiled excitedly, bent slightly, took a running start pose, and then launched himself in a microsecond, running like he was flying.

"You can go faster."

Having just started running, Barry didn't dare to go too fast, but the metallic insect urged him to let go of the restrictions.

So Barry ran faster for the first time. In the past, when he reached this speed, his clothes would have burned away, but this battle suit remained intact and as bright as new.

"Woooooo—!!!"

Barry ran, shouting joyfully. His figure became blurry in the air, with only arcs of electricity left in his wake.

Those arcs were the electrical breakdown phenomenon formed by the charges accumulated on his body being discharged into the air by the battle suit.

His running posture was different from ordinary people; his body was completely leaning forward, each stride was enormous, and rather than running, it was more like "gliding."

But he hadn't run for long before he felt a wave of dizziness, which caused him to lose his footing and fall headfirst, plowing a ditch in the ground with his face.

Barry's mask was a semi-enclosed type, similar to Batman's, so he bit into a mouthful of dirt.

"Ptooey!"

Barry spat out the mud in his mouth, his facial expression twisted.

"Warning: Your blood sugar level has dropped to an extremely dangerous level. Glucose supplementation is recommended immediately."

"In this godforsaken place, where can I get sugar?"

Barry helplessly glanced around. Besides the dim sky, there was only cold, dark land.

Other than these two, there was nothing else.

But the metallic insect, hearing Barry's words, automatically determined that he needed a glucose injection, so Barry suddenly felt a slight prick under the battle suit, and then something was injected into his body.

He felt some strength return, and he stood up with an incredible expression.

"You can actually do something like that?"

The metallic insect explained to him: "This unit carries a limited amount of glucose. Please use it sparingly."

"By the way, what's your name anyway? How should I address you in the future?"

"This unit has no name."

"Shazam didn't give you one?"

"He intended for you to name it."

"How about Little Flash (Flash)?" Barry asked enthusiastically.

"Doesn't feel very sincere," Little Flash grumbled.

"Then you'll be called Little Flash from now on!"

Little Flash controlled the battle suit to lower its visor. In the blue transparent visor, several red dots appeared underground.

"Barry, there's an abnormal energy signature underground!"

Barry immediately tensed up.

"Can you identify what it is?"

Little Flash in the battle suit quickly analyzed. He had a very rich database, and his intelligence had been personally taught by Cortana, so he was very smart.

"Through data comparison, the opponent is very likely a magic creature. I recommend immediate retreat!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a bluish withered branch grew out of the ground.

But Barry looked closely, and it wasn't a withered branch at all; it was clearly a dead person's hand!

He immediately shivered in fright, and Little Flash in his battle suit system also seemed speechless.

"Barry, I've detected urea components leaking from your body..."

"Shut up!" Barry's face flushed, and he quickly told him to be quiet.

In just this short while, the dead person from underground had crawled out. Most of his face remained intact, but his skin was tightly clinging to his bones, giving him a skeletal appearance.

His eye sockets were sunken, and there were no eyeballs. His dry throat seemed to still be making sounds, and Barry was sure he heard something.

"Living person, it's a living person!"

Guided by his voice, more dead people crawled out from underground, like undead rising from the dead.

Barry's face turned green on the spot, and he couldn't help but want to gag. He had just eaten the mud that had buried this group of dead people... "BarryRun!"

At Little Flash's reminder, Barry finally remembered what he should do. He shot forward, running with a series of electric arcs, which struck the dead, instantly sending them flying.

But Barry didn't see his masterpiece; he just kept running forward, wanting to get away from this place full of dead people.

"Barry, if you keep running like this, you'll soon fall into hypoglycemia again."

"But Little Flash, I can't stop."

Barry's mood collapsed again at this moment, because no matter how far he ran, he could see countless dead people "growing" out of the ground.

And their target was all him. Who did he offend?

Little Flash quickly analyzed: "This unit speculates that this is likely because you just ingested the soil here, allowing them to pinpoint your location."

Barry's face turned green again: "Can we please not talk about this anymore?"

"Of course."

Little Flash was very understanding.

After running for a long time, Barry felt that this road was endless.

No matter where he ran, he couldn't escape the entanglement of those dead people, and he had already felt that dizzying sensation again.

According to Little Flash, his blood sugar level had dropped to a very dangerous level again.

Barry stopped, a little hesitant whether to continue using glucose injections, but he hadn't found the exit here yet.

If his glucose ran out before that, he would be finished.

Just as he was frowning, the surrounding dead people had already surrounded him.

"Living person, living person..."

Those dead people were filled with jealousy and greed for the living, wanting to devour their flesh and blood.

Just then, there was a loud bang in the sky, and a figure descended from the sky—it was Wonder Woman!

She slammed her bracelets together, and the Impact sent all the dead flying.

At the same time, Superman also flew from a distance, his heat vision mercilessly cutting through these dead monsters, completely vaporizing their bodies.

Green Lantern manifested a green giant hammer, smashing the corpses back into the ground like playing whack-a-mole.

"Kid, are you alright?"

When Barry came to his senses, what he saw when he looked up was Superman's sunny smile...
