Stephanie's POV
"Can you stop saying that? I'm sick of it!" He shouted. "You keep saying that but what I God's name did I do? All I ever did was love and protect you."
My voice cracked in the kitchen like a whip.
I was so tired of pretending. Tired of acting like I didn't know exactly what he did, tired of him throwing my pain back in my face like it was nothing.
He just stared at me, jaw tight.
"You betrayed me!" I yelled back. "You fucking betrayed me!"
He laughed, cold and ugly. "How? Tell me then! How."
I froze. I didn't know if I was ready to open up. I was afraid that whatever reason he gave, I might believe him and end up making a fool of myself.
He opened his mouth, eyes burning. "Just say you don't love me and want an excuse to leave for that other guy. Stop saying things you can't even explain."
I wanted to say something but the kids rushed in.
"We're ready!" Josh and Jolina yelled together, running into the kitchen with their school bags bouncing.
