"Is it you?"
"Who are you?!"
Peter and Captain George spoke at the same time, both staring at Yuzhou in shock.
"Peter, you didn't manage to finish the antidote in time, did you?" Yuzhou looked at Peter and asked calmly.
The green gene-conversion mist had already begun spreading in all directions through the air.
With eyesight sharper than normal, one could clearly see chaos erupting on the ground. Centered on the tower, everyone within a certain radius was undergoing visible changes—skin turning green, scales growing across their bodies, and even tails sprouting from behind.
They had all become Lizard-men.
"I didn't finish it," Peter replied hurriedly, "but if you give me time, I definitely can!"
"There's no time left." Yuzhou shook his head as he looked at the mist already spreading from the top of the tower.
"If this had been prepared earlier, it might still have been possible to neutralize the infection. But now… it's already spread on a massive scale."
After a brief pause, he continued evenly,
"Forget it. I'll handle something this small myself."
"Who exactly are you?"
Captain George frowned, panting heavily as he stared at Yuzhou, his tone instinctively interrogative.
It was unavoidable—professional habit as a police officer.
"As for me…"
Yuzhou's lips curved slightly as he reached into his coat and took out the Spark Lens, holding it forward.
Under the night sky, the crystal-like device gleamed with a translucent brilliance, light flickering continuously across its surface.
"I'm just a passing Giant of Light."
With that, Yuzhou pressed the transformation trigger.
In an instant, dazzling light burst outward from his body. The radiance was so intense that Peter and George could barely open their eyes, raising their arms to shield their faces as they struggled to glimpse what was happening.
A clear, bell-like sound—like crystal chimes colliding—resounded across the night sky. The pillar of light turned the area around the tower into the focal point of the entire city.
Terrified civilians fleeing in panic.
Newly transformed Lizard-men roaring in madness.
Police officers locked in desperate combat.
All of them froze at the same moment, staring toward the blinding light that turned night into day.
Within that radiance, a colossal silhouette emerged, silently hovering beside the tower.
Silver, purple, and red interwoven armor.
A golden chest pattern.
A blue, jewel-like Color Timer.
And eyes as pale as polished ivory.
The Giant of Light—Ultraman Tiga.
"No way…"
Peter stared in disbelief at the towering figure before him. "Oh my God…"
"So, Captain George," Peter turned toward him with a dazed expression, "when you told me to contact the mayor of Tokyo before… you weren't just messing with me?"
"I… I had no idea…"
George's face was filled with shock.
Compared to the Lizard-man, the visual impact of Ultraman appearing before his very eyes was on an entirely different level.
After witnessing Yuzhou's transformation, George felt as if his entire worldview had collapsed.
Telling Peter to go to Tokyo—to contact the mayor or the police—had been nothing more than a joke, a way to brush off an overexcited kid.
Who could have imagined that Ultraman actually existed in this world?
Yuzhou did not linger. He merely glanced at the two of them before flying straight toward the top of the tower.
In less than two seconds, he arrived at the source of the green mist.
---
The Lizard—once Dr. Connors—stared wide-eyed at the giant hovering before him, completely forgetting his original purpose.
At that moment, only one thought remained in his mind—
Even a Lizard-man was nothing more than a pitiful insect.
"You're here to stop me!"
After the initial shock faded, the feral nature born of his transformation surged forth. He bared his fangs at Yuzhou, his voice filled with hostility.
Yuzhou hadn't expected such arrogance from someone standing before him.
Without another word, he swung his hand.
The Lizard attempted to block, but it was utterly futile. Even after exerting all his strength, he was swatted aside like a toy and slammed into the tower's railing.
That was Yuzhou holding back. Had he struck with killing intent, the Lizard would have died instantly—regeneration or not.
"Ha—ha—ha—ha—ha!"
To Yuzhou's surprise, the Lizard burst into laughter.
"So what if you can defeat me?!
Everyone in this city will become my kind!"
"Go on then—kill them all if you can!"
Yet Yuzhou did not respond.
He did not even spare the Lizard a glance.
That indifference enraged the creature even more. Being ignored like this was far more humiliating than defeat.
In the original storyline, only Peter knew how to create the antidote. Without it, the city should have been doomed.
"You think I have no solution just because there's no antidote?" Yuzhou said calmly.
He rose into the sky and hovered high above the city, surveying everything below.
Pulling both arms back, he assumed the stance to gather the Zeperion Ray.
But instead of energy concentrating between his hands, golden particles of light appeared in his palms.
Bringing his hands together, Yuzhou fired the luminous particles upward into the clouds.
The light merged into the cloud cover, and moments later, radiant droplets—imbued with purifying power—began to fall like rain, blanketing the entire city.
Wherever the Light Rain touched, the infected people began to calm. The madness faded, scales vanished, and bodies reverted to normal.
The Lizard state was erased.
Chaos rapidly subsided. People slowly lifted their heads, gazing skyward at the miraculous sight unfolding above them.
Light falling like rain—something never seen before, nor ever imagined.
"Captain George! The mist—it's gone!"
Lying on the ground, Peter shouted excitedly.
The green fog released from the top of the tower had completely vanished.
Moreover, as the light droplets touched his body, Peter felt warmth spreading through him. His wounds were healing, strength gradually returning.
"…I can move again?"
He clenched his fingers and rotated his wrists. To his astonishment, his dislocated joints had fully recovered.
George felt it too. The broken bones in his body were repairing themselves. Before long, he was able to stand upright again.
---
"How is this possible?! This can't be happening!!!"
At the top of the tower, the Lizard clutched his head and screamed in despair.
"Why has my serum failed?! What are these lights?!"
As the light particles touched his body, he felt it clearly.
His massive form began to shrink.
Green scales peeled away.
The tail receded.
He was reverting.
"No—NO!!!"
This was the one thing the Lizard could not accept.
Yet amid the regression, Dr. Connors' consciousness slowly reclaimed control.
"…I've changed back?"
Staring at his own hands, now human once more, Dr. Connors collapsed to his knees—his mind filled with shock, guilt, and disbelief.
High above, the Giant of Light hovered silently.
His task was complete.
