"Oh! So he is that Pachirisu from the news!?"
Apparently, the news of Jubilife disaster has reached Kalos as well.
"Pachi! Pachirisu! Pachi! Pachirisu!"
While Clemont couldn't understand what Pachirisu was explaining, he got the gist of it from the explanation of Ash and group.
So Pachirisu has gotten hit by lots of natural lightning.
And the attacks he uses now transforms the atmosphere around.
His glasses glinted, and he said, "The future is here, thanks to science!
I thought we will encounter a problem exactly like this!
I introduce you to Clemont Ionisation Examinator. With this I will be able to determine the problem!"
Clemont somehow brought out a large machine from his bag. Maybe it uses the shrinking laser like the Pokeballs?
Bonnie wasn't impressed.
"The name is so boring."
Clemont ignored Bonnie's comment and excitedly started explaining his machine.
"Normal electric type attacks are very different from natural lighting strikes.
In them, the electric charges are conducted through a Pokemon's energy, unlike air in case of natural lighting strikes.
And that air which conducts electricity is high temperature plasma!
With this machine, we will be able to determine the changes in air due to Pachirisu's electric moves!"
"Wow! Science is so amazing!"
"Pachirisu, please step into the glass chamber and unleash your power!"
"Pachi!"
Pachirisu went inside the glass chamber, and unleashed a small amount of Thunderbolt.
"Pachiri-SU!"
Clemont observed the readings. And understood the problem.
"Even before Pachirisu used Thunderbolt, the air started ionising with positive charge.
This means that the electric attacks don't ionise air.
But Volt Absorb chips away at the gases' electrons before the attack!"
"Pachi!"
Pachirisu nodded in understanding. So that's what has been happening!?
So, he just needs to NOT use Volt Absorb huh? He was probably using it subconsciously.
"Alright! Try Thunderbolt again, but without using Volt Absorb."
"Pachi!"
Piece of cake!
Don't use Volt Absorb!
And then...
"Pachiri-SU!"
Clemont shook his head.
"Maybe because of the lightning strikes, your Volt Absorb gets activated as defence mechanism? And it has become unusually strong.
Normally, Volt Absorb can only absorb the electric attacks for healing and can't chip away electrons from the atmosphere."
Professor Sycamore suggested, "What if we have him unleash all his electric energy until he almost exhausts it? That might bring him to normal level."
"Hmm, that can work."
"I have just the room for it!"
So, Pachirisu was brought into an underground room, with wires to ground electricity.
Clemont said, "We should get him an oxygen mask so that he doesn't inhale any outside air."
Clemont took out a mask with a tank from his bag.
Pachirisu was worried about this.
What if this thing explodes? Oxygen leads to thing catching fire, doesn't it? And what if it gets converted into Ozone?
"Pachi?"
"Don't worry! It's emergency kit, so I have tested this several times. It wouldn't get a dent even if Garchomp tries it.
Let me show it!"
Clemont brought the oxygen cylinder close to Garchomp.
"Garchomp?"
Garchomp looked at Professor Sycamore.
"Try biting into it? Smash it?"
Clemont was really confident in his inventions resilience. So Garchomp first tried to bite it.
"See!? Not even a scratch!"
"Wow! Science is so amazing!"
Next, Garchomp tried to smash it with his hands. He even used Dragon claws.
Still, nothing happened to it!
"Wow!"
"Pachi!"
This assured Pachirisu, and he let Clemont put on the oxygen mask and cylinder on him.
And then, he went inside the room.
From outside, Clemont said in the mic.
"Pachirisu, let out all your energy!"
"Pachi!"
Pachirisu took a deep breath, and started.
"PAAAAAAAAA
CHIIIIIIIIII
RIIIIIIII
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"
The grounding wires burnt.
But since the entire room was underground, being ground from all sides, the blue electricity was still getting absorbed into the walls.
But just then, the pipe of the oxygen cylinder broke.
"Pachi!"
