Chapter 145: Pureblood Method
"Huh… we're safe," Harry muttered, clutching his stomach as he bent slightly forward.
Dudley raised an eyebrow, watching him with concern just earlier he was ok but after stepping the portal suddenly Harry are clutching his stomach. "What's wrong with your body?"
"Nothing," Harry replied quickly, straightening up and his hands no longer holding his stomach "I just… portals, maybe I am nervous after we escaped from group of goblin and it reminded me during my first year in Hogwarts, still mess with my insides a bit." He looked around wanted to know where Dudley had opened the portal and he is very familiar with this place, this is the inside of Dudley briefcase.. "So… are we inside your briefcase?"
"Of course, my dearest Harry," Dudley said with a smirk. "You've been here plenty of times already."
Harry sighed in relief, finally relaxing. The pocket dimension inside Dudley enchanted briefcase are a place where they had spend a lot of time together, training, researching, it was completely sealed off from the outside world everything they done inside this space are safe and won't attract ministry attention.
Then Dudley expression changed when he glanced at the mountains of gold and artifacts stacked nearby, this is their war loot taken from Lestrange vault.
"But Harry," Dudley continued, "what do you think we should do with all these Galleons?"
Harry blinked. "Didn't you say that stealing it would weaken the Death Eaters power?"
"You're right," Dudley nodded. "And it does but that's not what I meant."
He turned to face Harry while his hand hold Harry shoulder. "We could use this money to fund a group of Muggle-born witches and wizards."
For a moment, Harry just stared at him.
Then something clicked.
His eyes lit up as if a spark had ignited inside his mind. "Dudley… that's a brilliant idea."
"I know," Dudley replied calmly. "But there's a problem."
Harry frowned. "What kind of problem?"
"The pureblood families," Dudley said seriously. "They would become the biggest obstacle."
Harry tilted his head, confused. "But how? I mean, if we're helping people, why would they interfere?"
Dudley studied Harry for a moment before asking, "Do you know how pureblood families usually react when they fail?"
Harry thought about it. "No… but I can imagine they'd react like Malfoy."
For a second, there was silence then both of them burst out laughing.
"That's not wrong," Dudley admitted, wiping a grin from his face. "But let me explain it properly."
He walked over to one of the shelves and leaned against it, his tone turning analytical.
"When purebloods lose power or influence," Dudley said, "they don't blame themselves. They look for someone weaker to blame and more often than not, that someone is a Muggle-born."
Harry smile faded as he listened.
"Let me give you an example," Dudley continued. "Imagine a pureblood family owns a business selling hair-growing potions. It's profitable and well-known because many people lost their hairs when they aged."
Harry nodded.
"Now imagine a Muggle-born wizard improves the formula," Dudley said. "Makes it cheaper, faster and more effective. They open shops in a locations far from the current Pureblood Shop and suddenly the pureblood family business starts losing money."
Harry frowned. "They'd be furious."
"Exactly," Dudley replied. "But instead of adapting or improving their own product, they'd blame the Muggle-born. They'd claim theft, sabotage, or 'impurity.' And then they'd retaliate either by doing it secretly or publicly."
Harry clenched his fists slightly.
"But now," Dudley said, raising a finger, "replace the Muggle-born with another pureblood."
He paused. "Let's say Crabbe is the one who benefits from selling that improved potion. Then Malfoy comes along and sells an even better version."
Harry grimaced. "That'd start a feud."
"Yes," Dudley said, "but it would be different. Even if Malfoy opened his shop on the same street as Crabbe, the retaliation wouldn't be the same. There would be rivalry, resentment, maybe backhanded insults but not outright persecution."
Harry slowly understood. "Because they see each other as equals."
"Exactly," Dudley said. "Purebloods tolerate competition from their own kind. What they can't tolerate is being surpassed by someone they believe is beneath them."
The room fell quiet.
Continued Dudley. "But that wasn't the real reason, it is because Malfoy has status as pureblood family. If crabbe dared to persecute another family, it won't bring him good."
Harry looked at the piles of gold again, seeing them differently now. "So if we fund Muggle-borns openly…"
"We paint targets on their backs," Dudley finished.
Harry exhaled slowly. "That's messed up."
"It is," Dudley agreed. "But that's the reality of this society."
He looked at Harry again, his gaze steady. "Which means if we're going to help them, we need to be careful and smart."
Harry nodded firmly. "Then we do it smartly maybe scholarships. Anonymous investments. or Front businesses."
Dudley smiled, "No... I think your too naive, no need for anonymous just do it openly within muggleborn but hiding it from Pureblood."
"You are right," said Harry.
"That's exactly what I was hoping you'd say," replied Dudley.
"I am glad you are my cousin," said Harry.
"Hahaha!" Dudley laughed, shaking his head and didn't want to have more deeptalk with Harry, he shifted the conversation. "Now then… do you want to destroy the Horcrux or not?"
Harry blinked, then froze. "Oh...right. The Horcrux," he admitted honestly. "I almost forgot about it."
Dudley stared at him while doing a disbelief face. "You're sixteen. How do you keep forgetting things this important?"
"Shut up," Harry snapped, his cheeks flushing red with embarrassment.
Dudley only laughed harder. "Relax. I'm just joking."
After a moment, Dudley expression shifted from teasing to thoughtful. "Actually, I think we should call Sirius about this."
Harry frowned slightly. "Why Sirius?"
Dudley leaned back against a shelf, crossing his arms. "You've destroyed a Horcrux before. I've destroyed one too and It feels only fair that we give Sirius the chance to do it as well."
Harry paused, then slowly nodded.
"You're right," Harry said quietly. "He spent so many years in Azkaban, years stolen from him for something he didn't do."
His gaze hardened after he made up his mind. "He deserves this. Not just to help us, but to feel like he's truly part of ending Voldemort."
Dudley smiled faintly. "Exactly. This isn't just about destroying a Horcrux. It's about closure."
Harry looked at the Horcrux container, then back at Dudley. "Alright. Let's call him."
