Chapter 149: Funeral
Sirius, Kreacher and Harry looked at Dudley who vanished part of the bowl by sucking it directly into the portal.
They knows that the thing was dangerous and could trigger some magic and trap by Voldemort and that was why he sucked out that thing out somewhere.
After everything has calmed down, Dudley just stared at the locket before turning himself to Kreacher.
"Kreacher," called Dudley.
"Yes master," answered Kreacher.
While Sirius expression looked confused, why did Dudley called his house elf after getting the locket?
He didn't expect Dudley would do this kind of betrayal to him because a second later, Dudley passed the locket to Kreacher.
"Take this and keep it , you are the last person who was with Regulus and I believe if he is still alive. He would be delighted upon knowing that his favorite house elf get this locket," said Dudley.
Kreacher freezed unable to speak anything while Sirius eyes become widen and Harry just looked at Dudley.
"Du..." Sirius wanted to say something but couldn't voice it out while Dudley moved forward and wear the locket on Kreacher neck.
Kreacher only woken up from his shocked and noticed that the locket have already worn by him.
"Mas... Master Dudley," said Kreacher and unkbenownst to him that this moment and time Kreacher loyalty is on maximum level towards Dudley.
"Yes, it suits you well," commented Dudley without anyone asking it. He then looked at Sirius, "Sirius, I know that locket was the last thing that being left by Regulus but if you understand regulus well enough. He would probably enjoyed knowing that his favorite elf getting this locket after his death."
Sirius just exhaled his breath and calmed himself, before thinking back about Regulus past and he also Regulus smile while talking to Kreacher from one of his memories and couldn't find fault with Dudley.
He looked at Kreacher, "Keep that locket and don't lose it, it is the last item that belong to Regulus."
"Thank you master," said Kreacher and Sirius didn't know yet but his permission to let Kreacher wore the necklace would make kreacher become very loyal and he wouldn't mock Sirius anymore as bastard master. He would also get a same treatment like Kreacher did to Regulus, that means Kreacher would clean and cook properly for him.
Looking at Kreacher reaction, Dudley just smiled and for some reason he clapped the non exist dust on his hand.
"Good, now one problem had settled and it is time to retrieve Regulus body," said Dudley.
The moment he said this, the look on the face of Sirius and Kreacher changed again, from someone who are in grief suddenly become serious.
Dudley blinked looking at their reaction, it was like seeing two different people.
"Let's do it," said Sirius.
Dudley raised his wand and cast a protective spell, this is not a protego spell but a very unique defensive spell created by Dudley. He got inspiration from watching Jujutsu Kaisen, one of Gojo Satoru skill called infinity.
Basically any spell or physical object that hit his infinity shield won't ever reach him, not even Avada Kedavra because the shield are not acting like a barrier, instead It divides the finite space between the caster and an attacker an infinite number of times.
For example the spell hit the shield on a distance of 1 meter but it is actualy 0.0000001 meter and the number would divide more over time and basically it won't reach him.
So when ever the spell would hit him, Dudley would become too far from the spell making the attack won't ever reach Dudley. At the moment only him had mastered this infinity shield.
"What is this shield?" asked Sirius. "I don't think it is protego."
"You are right, protego can't hold ourselves against thousand of inferi," replied Dudley. "Stay here."
Dudley moved forward and touched the lake, he waited until he can feel inferi moved towards him and ran to the circle of defensive spell.
"Everyone come inside the circle and we would be safe," shouted Dudley.
Hearing Dudley shouting, Sirius who had stepped out from the circle followed Dudley words, the reason is he can hear the sound of some thing crawling and water splashing from the lake.
"ROAR"
"SPLASH"
"TATATATATA"
The number of inferi are uncountable, too many too count and he can't imagine how many people Voldemort had killed to create this many inferi. Dudley casted more lumos orb so it could brighten the cave, although he had used this spell earlier but being attacked by more than 1000 inferi making those who stay inside the circle, can feel the light become a bit dimmed
Luckily, Dudley had activated his gamers mind making him relax in this situation, while Harry situation is not really good, he looked scared to face the inferi.
Sirius and Kreacher eyes scanned the inferi one by one, they are trying to identify which one Regulus. Although they are scared, still they tried their best to locate Regulus Black.
"GNAWED"
"THUD"
"PAKKKK"
Inferi tried to bite, hit the shield but it did nothing to it.
"Is this shield really strong enough?" asked Harry who his face looked a bit pale.
Dudley just nodded, he didn't want to turn off the gamers mode otherwise he might be attacked by panic attack, this inferi looked really scary.
Suddenly Kreacher shouted.
"That, that is master Regulus," pointed Kreacher to an inferi who had slightly different clothes.
He wore robes that now are tattered and the body have a wound, it clearly bite mark, scratch mark. Just looking at him, Dudley knows Regulus are the victim of cannibal.
Dudley flicked his wand and cancelled the part where Regulus just attacked making him suddenly stumbled forward and entered the circle. One more flick the barrier instantly repaired and Dudley tied Regulus corpse with magic.
After that he used Fiendfyre and guided the spell to burn every Inferi infront of him and the inferi didn't have enough time to return to water, the spell hit them before they could escape.
"Let's go," said Dudley after turning off his gamers mind.
Dudley opened a portal and bring the tied up Regulus to the outside.
Regulus body which are moved like a monster earlier suddenly stopped moving, the inferi magic stopped affecting him.
Sirius and Kreacher followed from behind and when they saw Regulus body which are no longer moving, Kreacher went to touch his master face while crying and Sirius also cried but Harry had hugged him to calm him down.
"We should do a funeral for Regulus," said Dudley.
