Things have changed. When I first orchestrated all of this, I wanted to put the ghouls in a position where they would have no choice but to join me. I would use them as a tool to wage war against the vampires. But now, with this new bloodline, I had the luxury of taking things slow.
To feel my way through before rushing ahead.
"Gather all the remaining ratfolk here," I commanded.
The ghouls did as I said and brought all the ratfolk who were still alive.
"Don't mean to rush you, but with all the commotion going on, the vampires will be here at any moment. They'll want to bring an end to the people who committed the massacre last night," Yuki urged.
"We should get ready to fight," another ghoul chimed in.
"Fighting the vampires at this stage wouldn't be the best for us at this moment. We need to choose the best moment to act, and this isn't it," I said.
"So what will we do? They're coming for us."
