Usually, when Emily had a nightmare, she would grab a handkerchief that she had always kept on her nightstand and hold it close to her chest. A piece of cloth that had always reminded her that she wasn't alone. Immediately, it would soothe her troubles and calm her tumultuous heart.
Last night, surprisingly, she never even thought about it. But why would she when she already had the real thing sleeping soundly beside her?
