Chapter 55 - 55 - Compensation?

"Kid, don't get cocky!"

Jinsuke stomped hard against the air, the impact bursting with thunderous roars as his body blurred through the sky, leaving behind nothing but afterimages too fast for the eye to follow.

In the next instant, he appeared above Gojo's head—his enormous shoe, easily over forty centimeters long, came crashing down.

BANG!!

He stomped straight onto Gojo's head, kicking him downwards.

"What the hell!?"

Gojo steadied himself midair, his cursed energy flaring to stabilize his fall, eyes wide in disbelief.

"That's… taijutsu!? He's literally walking on air!"

Even as shock ran through him, Gojo didn't hesitate—he raised his hand, red energy swirling violently at his fingertips.

Seeing Gojo nearly unscathed, Jinsuke sighed in annoyance. That damn turtle shell really was too sturdy.

"Guess I need the Inverted Spear of Heaven to deal with this kind of technique."

The crimson blast of "Red" shot toward him, but Jinsuke merely tilted his head slightly, dodging with casual ease.

Then, both fighters simultaneously sensed several presences rushing toward them.

"Seems like this is the end," Jinsuke smirked. "Let's finish with one last move."

"Don't dodge this, brat."

Grinning, Jinsuke clenched both fists—muscles bulging like coiled dragons, veins pulsing beneath his skin.

"Morning Peacock!"

A silent instant passed before his fists blurred into a storm of motion—each strike igniting the air itself.

The friction between sheer speed and raw power birthed roaring flames that spread across the sky.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Countless blazing fireballs erupted, filling the heavens and crashing down upon Gojo like a crimson sea.

For a brief moment, Gojo just stared in awe.

"You're seriously not human anymore, are you?!"

Since when could pure physical power produce magical explosions!?

Still, even while muttering complaints, his hands didn't stop moving.

A massive sphere of blue cursed energy condensed between his palms, swirling like a miniature black hole.

"Cursed Technique Lapse - Maximum Cursed Energy Output: Blue!"

A terrifying suction pulled the incoming fireballs into the sphere.

If those things had hit the ground, the entire mountain might've burned down.

Now engulfed in roaring flames, the blue sphere became a massive fireball of cursed energy. Gojo spun his body and hurled it toward Jinsuke—It grazed past him and exploded in the sky like fireworks, shaking the very fabric of space.

BOOM!!!

The blast was so violent that the air itself trembled.

"Gojo! Jinsuke! Stop fighting already!"

Principal Yaga sprinted toward them, followed by several teachers and students from Tokyo Jujutsu High. This mountain belonged to the school—it was the designated site for inter-school exchanges. Two monsters fighting here was bound to attract attention.

They had assumed a group of curse users was attacking, but when they arrived... it was Gojo and Jinsuke beating each other to a pulp.

Yaga's face darkened. If he'd arrived a few minutes later, there might not even be a mountain left.

Neither Jinsuke nor Gojo responded to Yaga's shout.

Jinsuke grinned. "So, brat, one last chance. Wanna keep going?" Gojo fell silent. Forming a hand seal, he hesitated for a moment, then slowly dropped his arm.

"Forget it. No point."

He'd wanted to beat Jinsuke up, but the guy was just too ridiculous. Even Gojo wasn't confident his strongest technique could hit him—and if it did, without Reverse Cursed Technique, the man could die. He didn't want that.

And honestly… if the fight dragged on, Jinsuke might just pull out another insane move.

"Does this guy even count as human anymore?"

Seeing Gojo lower his hand, Jinsuke relaxed too. The soreness in his body quickly faded — his Heavenly Restriction's absurd regenerative ability kicking in. Yeah… Eight Gates and Heavenly Restriction really are the perfect combo. Maybe someday he could open all eight gates without dying. Though honestly, who could ever push him that far?

"What the hell happened here!?" Yaga stormed over with the others, staring at the cratered, scorched battlefield.

"Gojo! Old man! Why were you fighting? Who won!?"

Riko pouted. She couldn't believe she'd missed such a spectacular fight."

Why didn't anyone tell me!?"

"That's a question for Gojo," Jinsuke shrugged, hands raised innocently.

Everyone turned toward Gojo.

"Hey, hey, what's with those looks? I just wanted a little sparring session. Teachers spar all the time, right?"

Of course, he didn't mention that he'd actually come to beat Jinsuke up under the higher-ups' orders—and failed miserably.

"Sparring!?" Yaga pointed at the devastation around them.

"Does this look like sparring to you!?"

The damage was going to cost a fortune to repair.

"You two can pay for this out of your own pockets!"

Gojo winced. "Cough, cough—uh, this was all Gojo's doing,"

Jinsuke said with a grin, immediately shifting the blame.

"Not my fault. Talk to him about the money."

Then, without another word, he turned to leave.

"Maki! We're heading back."

"Oh, right—coming!" Maki shouted from the woods, relieved she'd kept her distance. If she hadn't, she might've been vaporized.

"You—!" Gojo wanted to curse him out…But after a moment of thinking—well, technically, yeah, most of the destruction was his fault.

"Fine, fine, Principal Yaga. I'll pay for the repairs later."He'd just ask the higher-ups for funding—after all, it was their idea. And if they refused… maybe he'd start borrowing some of Jinsuke's "methods."

"Hey, hey, Gojo, so who won?" Riko asked eagerly.Everyone perked up their ears.

Gojo scratched his head awkwardly. "Half and half, I guess." Then, without waiting for more questions, he blinked out of sight—copying Jinsuke's classic move and running away.

The "Strongest Sorcerer" had actually fought a man with no cursed energy to a draw. That wasn't something he wanted on record.

"Damn…" several teachers muttered, stunned. "As expected of Zenin-sensei… I knew he was hiding something."

"No kidding. No wonder the two biggest troublemakers in the Jujutsu world are evenly matched."

"Ugh, wasted trip," Mei Mei sighed, hefting her axe. She'd been ready to make some easy money, but it turned out to be just internal conflict.

"Alright, everyone, disperse," Yaga said, rubbing his temples. "I'll start calculating the damages."

He could already guess the real reason behind the fight—probably some nonsense from the higher-ups. Still… he couldn't deny it.

Those two monsters were on a completely different level.
