"Alpha!" Elder Isaac cut in, a tremor of urgency breaking through the tension. "What do we do?"
Eric turned back to his seat, and lowered himself into the carved chair that had belonged to five Alphas before him. "He gave us until the next full moon," Eric said at last, fingers drumming once against the armrest. "I'm guessing that's the reason. He needs the wolf at its mightiest."
Everyone in Crestwood understood what the full moon did to Ravok. It unleashed him.
If Mark's creature obeyed the same celestial law, it meant Mark believed he could rival divine architecture.
"What is it Redwood wants?" Elder Thomas asked.
Eric's eyes lifted. "Crestwood. Alpha Mark wants Crestwood."
Mark wanted supremacy. Always had.
"We need to find his weakness," John said finally.
All eyes turned to him.
"Ravok has his weakness," John continued. "His mate. I'm sure Alpha Mark's artificially generated wolf does too."
Eric's jaw tightened.
"And how do we do that?" Elder Isaac pressed.
