Vivienne's downfall seemed to be assembling itself piece by piece without him having to strain for it. It was almost as if the Moon Goddess herself had grown bored and decided to giftwrap the woman's destruction. Spying on the Alpha was not a minor offense.
It was treason, stupidity. Eric remained exactly where he was, directly in front of Alice, forcing her to remain in his shadow. Silence did the work for him. By the time Cyril arrived, the air had grown heavy enough to suffocate.
"Alpha…" Cyril approached at a brisk pace and bowed briefly. His sharp eyes flicked between Eric and the maid, taking in the tension without missing a detail. "What happened?"
"She has been reporting to Vivienne about my activities," Eric said evenly. "Find out what more she has told Vivienne so far. Do it discreetly. We can't risk any publicity with my mother and Delilah right now."
