…
Earth — West City.
Gran arrived before a private estate, bringing little Broly with him.
"Gran, where is this place? Why don't I see any wild beasts?"
Broly bounced around energetically. After two years with Gran, his personality had changed completely.
"This isn't one of those primitive planets," Gran replied calmly. "You won't need me to hunt food here. Just wait—there'll be plenty of good stuff to eat."
Gran understood what Broly meant.
In the past, he had taken Broly to undeveloped worlds to hunt gigantic beasts for food.
But now that they were on Earth—with so many delicacies available—there was no reason to bother.
"Then where's the food?"
Broly looked around eagerly, but saw nothing edible.
"Wait a moment."
Gran focused slightly. Bulma's presence wasn't at home—she was somewhere crowded.
"…Where is she?"
Gran paused.
After calculating the timeline, it was now Age 751. If events had not deviated, Son Goku would have finished the Tenkaichi Budokai in Age 750.
That same year, he would encounter the Red Ribbon Army, climb Korin Tower, defeat Tao Pai Pai, and ultimately destroy the entire Red Ribbon organization.
Now that it was Age 751, Goku should be training alone in preparation for the Age 753 Tenkaichi Budokai.
Which meant
Bulma should have returned to high school.
"I see."
Gran vanished together with Broly.
…
Elsewhere.
West City High School.
The dismissal bell rang.
"Bye, Bulma!"
"See you tomorrow!"
Bulma exited the school gates with her classmates, preparing to part ways
Suddenly
"Bulma."
A familiar voice came from the side of the school entrance.
"?"
Bulma froze. The voice sounded oddly familiar. She turned her head.
A tall, handsome young man stood before the crowd, holding a small child by the hand.
"Hiss!"
Bulma sucked in a sharp breath.
Despite the strange, bulky outfit the man was wearing, she recognized him instantly.
The Candidate God of Destruction!
Only the Candidate God of Destruction could be this handsome!
"Bulma. Long time no see."
Gran looked at her quietly.
She stood tall and graceful, like a young willow in spring. She was wearing a school JK uniform, her long pale legs exposed, her youthful vitality radiating effortlessly.
"Greetings, Candidate God of Destruction-sama!"
Recognizing him fully now, Bulma stepped forward and bowed deeply in one smooth motion.
As the daughter of Earth's richest family, Bulma was well-known throughout the school. Her sudden formal bow left the surrounding students completely stunned.
"Who is that guy? Bulma actually bowed to him?!"
"Is she crazy? She wouldn't even bow like that to the King!"
"..."
Gran ignored the ignorant mortals around them.
As usual, he grabbed Bulma by the back of her collar and lifted off into the air.
Broly followed closely behind.
The moment they flew upward
The school entrance erupted into chaos.
"My god—he's flying!"
"No way! That has to be a trick! Humans can't fly!"
"Bulma's been kidnapped! Should we call the police?!"
"..."
…
High above the city.
Bulma spread her arms wide, letting the wind rush against her face.
"This feels amazing… I haven't flown like this in over two years."
She looked up happily.
"Candidate God of Destruction, it really has been a long time!"
"You've become even more beautiful in these two years," Gran said casually, glancing down.
Long pale legs… impressive curves
So this was eighteen-year-old Bulma.
Yes—she really was beautiful.
"Y-you've become even more handsome too, Candidate God of Destruction-sama."
Being praised by such a young and powerful god, Bulma felt shy. She studied Gran carefully.
His bulky outfit hid his physique, but his face remained as strikingly handsome as ever.
"Candidate God of Destruction-sama, why did you leave without saying goodbye back then? Where have you been these past two years? Can you tell me?"
Bulma wiped the corner of her mouth and fired off her questions rapidly.
"Uh… nothing I can't say," Gran replied.
"Back then, enemies invaded our universe…"
He explained the Fourth Universe's invasion and Orma's actions.
Bulma's mouth fell open after hearing everything.
"I never imagined the universe was hiding dangers like that… Thank goodness the Candidate God of Destruction was there!"
"And you?" Gran asked.
"You didn't go searching for the Dragon Balls with Kakarot?"
"He said he wanted to prepare for the martial arts tournament two years from now, so we stopped searching."
"I see." Gran chuckled.
"So… still looking for your Prince Charming?"
"..."
Bulma instantly remembered Gran's Tang Monk–style cold joke from two years ago and fell silent.
"No."
"Ever since meeting you, those so-called Prince Charmings don't seem that impressive anymore."
"Hahaha!"
Gran laughed heartily and accelerated.
Whoosh!
Two streaks of light cut across the sky.
In moments, Gran brought Bulma back to her home.
"Welcome back, Miss. Welcome, Lord Gran."
The servants hurried to bow. Gran had lived here before, and they recognized him immediately.
"Bulma, have them prepare dinner," Gran said.
"Lord Beerus will be arriving shortly as well."
He glanced toward the sky.
Those two were almost here.
"W-what?!"
Bulma turned pale. "Lord Beerus is coming too?!"
"Mm."
Upon Gran's confirmation, Bulma immediately panicked and began mobilizing the entire staff to prepare a feast worthy of gods.
"You should've told me earlier!" she complained nervously in the courtyard.
"Well, we were busy talking," Gran replied casually.
He didn't head to the dining hall yet, instead waiting in the courtyard for Beerus and Whis.
Glancing at the youthful girl beside him, he smiled.
"Every time we come to Earth, we trouble you. As Lord Beerus says—anyone who provides food for gods is entitled to certain privileges."
"If you have any wishes… you can say them."
Just like in the original canon, Bulma had now become the "caretaker" of Beerus and Gran.
And as such
She truly did have special privileges.
