Chapter 155 - Chapter 155: The Changes in Paragus

"Kibito… the Galactic King… Paragus."

Gran swept his gaze across the three figures before him.

The first, the red-faced burly man, was none other than Kibito, who had disappeared long ago. It turned out he had been dispatched here by Shin.

The second was the green, octopus-like creature—the current Galactic King. A piece of trash, really. Not worth a second glance.

The third was Paragus, little Broly's father.

Paragus's aura was somewhat strange. Judging by battle power alone, it was only around ten thousand.

That didn't make sense.

Back then, Gran had given him three Spirit Fruits, and Paragus had eaten one on the spot. His battle power should have long since surpassed one million.

Yet his current aura was this weak…

There was only one explanation.

Paragus had accepted Merus's guidance.

Gran then looked past him. Behind Paragus stood more than a dozen Saiyans, their auras equally subdued.

They must have received Merus's instruction as well—learning to conceal a portion of their ki.

At this moment, the voices of Paragus and his group echoed throughout the hall. Those who didn't know what was happening stood there dumbfounded.

What kind of great figure had arrived?

Not only the extraterrestrials in the hall—even Bulma, who was standing beside Gran, was completely shaken by the scene.

She knew Gran's identity.

But she never imagined he possessed such overwhelming prestige across the universe.

"Paragus, you've done well."

Gran's lips curved slightly upward.

So he really had managed to "freeload" Merus's guidance after all.

"Thank you for your praise, Lord Gran!"

Paragus stepped forward and bent at the waist in a perfect ninety-degree bow.

After arriving at the Galactic Patrol Headquarters, he had encountered the Galactic King—and later, a retainer of the Supreme Kai.

From the mouths of those two, he finally learned what kind of existence his clansman had become.

A being second only to one, yet above all others—

A Candidate God of Destruction!

"Kibito, long time no see."

Gran shifted his gaze to the red-faced giant and asked curiously,

"Why did Shin suddenly send you here?"

"Greetings, Lord Gran!"

Kibito stepped forward and bowed again, then said awkwardly,

"The Supreme Kai felt I ate too much… so he sent me here to manage the universe together with the Galactic King."

Ate too much?

Gran immediately understood.

He must have eaten far too much of the food Gran had brought back from Earth—so this was his punishment.

"What kind of nonsense is that…"

Gran felt speechless.

At this moment, the Galactic King also stepped forward respectfully.

"Greetings, Lord Candidate God of Destruction!"

"Mm."

Gran nodded lightly, then glanced at the green octopus and said flatly,

"Though you're pretty useless, allowing the Saiyans to join the Galactic Patrol is more than enough."

"I wouldn't dare!"

The Galactic King turned several shades paler as his tentacled body stiffened.

"This was your command, Lord Candidate God of Destruction. I would never dare defy it!"

In truth, when Paragus had brought several Saiyans to the Galactic Patrol Headquarters back then, the Galactic King had nearly been scared out of his wits.

The Saiyans' reputation in Universe Seven was utterly atrocious. He had thought Paragus was leading an attack on the headquarters.

Instead, Paragus claimed he had come under the orders of a Candidate God of Destruction to join the Galactic Patrol.

That revelation was even more terrifying.

The Galactic Patrol assisted the Supreme Kai, and as Galactic King, he naturally knew certain hidden truths about the gods of the universe.

The God of Destruction was the strongest existence in the universe.

And a Candidate God of Destruction was the disciple of such a being.

The terror of such a god was beyond imagination.

Upon hearing that order, he hadn't dared refuse in the slightest.

Later, when Merus sent word approving the decision, there was even less reason to object.

"Alright, this isn't the place to talk."

Gran looked at the Galactic King.

"Find somewhere quiet."

"Yes."

The Galactic King glanced around the hall.

The ordinary Galactic Patrol members who knew nothing, along with the extraterrestrials who had come to seek consultations, were all staring at them—faces lit with gossiping excitement.

Daring to watch the Candidate God of Destruction's spectacle… these people really weren't afraid of death.

The Galactic King was about to lead Gran toward the top floor of headquarters when

"Gran, please go handle your business. I'll stay here and look for my sister."

Bulma suddenly spoke up.

Gran stopped and sighed.

"I really shouldn't have brought you along, you dead weight."

Then he turned to little Broly.

"I don't have time to watch her. You keep an eye on her—don't let some blind fool kill her."

"Brother Gran, as long as Bulma isn't killed, that's fine?"

"Yes. She's Lord Beerus and Whis's food supplier. If she dies, I won't be able to explain myself."

Their conversation reached Bulma's ears, and her face instantly darkened.

This Candidate God of Destruction was seriously annoying!

"Let's go."

Gran gestured for the Galactic King to continue leading the way.

With Gran's order given, little Broly no longer followed.

"Lord Gran, please wait."

This time, it was Paragus who stopped them.

"..."

Gran's mouth twitched.

He knew exactly what Paragus wanted—this was a long-overdue father-and-son meeting.

"You have ten minutes."

"Thank you, Lord Gran!"

Paragus was deeply grateful and quickly walked up to little Broly.

"Broly… a-are you doing well?"

Paragus's voice trembled.

"I'm doing very well. Father doesn't need to worry."

Little Broly's face was completely calm.

There was no joy of reunion—only serenity.

Paragus froze.

Broly's understanding had changed.

Did he already know… that his father had always intended to use him?

"You're doing well… that's good… that's good…"

Paragus's initial excitement faded into dejection. For a moment, he didn't know what to say.

"Stay by Lord Gran's side. He'll solve your rampage problem," Paragus finally said.

"That's fine."

Little Broly nodded once more.

Paragus opened his mouth, hesitated, then sighed and turned back toward Gran.

"There's still time. You're not going to say more?" Gran asked calmly.

In the past, this man had been blinded by hatred.

Now… he seemed to have changed.

"No."

Paragus shook his head, his emotions heavy.

"Then let's go."

Gran waved his hand.

The group arrived at the elevator, about to leave the first-floor hall.

Paragus suddenly turned around.

"Broly—your father is sorry!"

Little Broly, standing in the hall, froze completely.
