Hearing these words, she felt it to be a mistake in her hearing,
Must be my illusion.
She thought,
But the moment he moved forward towards them ,hit like a truck to her.
They were her parents, her mom and her dad.
And she ?, she didn't even had the slightest idea of who they were, nor was she able to recognise them. They were not like this in her memory.
But she somehow managed to calm herself down, sat beside them.
"Yueyue! , jiang chen!, how have you been?" Mom asked,
"Great" Jiang chen replied, while yue liang just looked at them.
Soon, she understood that these were really her parents, in this place where she had somehow travelled, in this world they were her parents.
Quickly managing to get a hold of it, she chatted with them,
"Mom, here" She handed her a sweets bag and a fruit basket.
"oh!..., It's my favourite" Her mother exclaimed, and placed it aside with a big smile smile on her face.
Her mother began to pour some water, but jiang chen interrupted her in mid,
"I'll do this"
Mrs. yue didn't insist further and let him be,
She got up to bring some snacks, followed by yue liang,
"Is he treating you well?" Mrs. yue asked her while in kitchen,
"He is treating me well and good" Yue liang replied,
She was watching Mrs. yue, who was organising the dishes. She felt oddly familiar by her way of behaviour but she was not.
She followed behind Mrs. yue when she came up with the fruits and placed it on the table.
The aunt, who opened the door came up with other dishes, discussion were being held by Mr. yue and mrs. yue as they were curious about their daughter.
They were repeatedly asking and making sure that their daughter and son-in-law didn't encounter any problem.
After a while, the topic of discussion changed,
"Soon, the birthday of yue liang is coming, we should hold a party and call all the guests" Her dad suggested,
"Yeah, why not? we can also call those ones who weren't able to attend the wedding." Jiang chen added,
"Yes, But a small scale party would do" Yue liang recommended,
"We just went through a wedding and i don't want to hold a large- scale party for the time being" She added on,
Mrs. yue agreed to her words, showing acceptance towards her decisions.
They all agreed upon the decision and went back to discussing normal life situations among themselves.
At the evening,
Jiang chen and yue liang walked out of the mansion waving back at the parents, who looked at them with teary eyes filled with happiness.
Both of them walked close to the car and looked back for the last time, the parents were still looking at them with teary eyes. The last glance soon was turned over, and they sat in the car, driving off to their home,
The penthouse.
When they reached the house, yue liang remained settled in the car, while jiang chen walked out and opened the door for her. Unsurprised by the act of service, she walked out and tooks steps towards the penthouse leaving him behind.
He followed her inside, the moment she walked in, the atmosphere told her about the news.
There were gift boxes at the table in front of the couch, a rosy smell in the hall; all of these were indicators that wan ting's visit went quiet well or maybe more good then expected.
Yue liang dropped her bag on the couch beside the gifts and went to the kitchen, she grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge.
Jiang chen was coming with the gifts, he placed them on the table and went behind her.
"You seem tired" He said, unknowingly on an impulse,
She looked at him and hummed.
"I'm going to rest" She said, sighing.
She opened the door to her room, and found wan ting there, on her bed.
She was reading a book, upon seeing yue liang she placed the book aside,
"You wouldn't believe me if i told you what happened today" Wan ting exclaimed,
Yue liang sat in front of her , her expressions were visibly dull.
"What happened?" Wan ting asked,
"My parents,..." She hesitated to find her words,
"They ...They are not my parents" She expressed her reason.
In the next room, jiang chen and jiang yu were listening to them,
Both were silent and didn't utter anything, just silently listening to their wives.
"What does it mean?" Wan ting asked confused,
"They were not my parents, literal meaning."
Yue liang repeated,
"The house was same, trees were same, and even the birds were the same but none of the person inside was the same" She explained further.
"Mrs. Yue was not my mom, she didn't looked like that either, and even dad...." She paused, looking at wan ting.
"What about you?" She diverted the attention,
"We'll talk about that later, what's the matter with you?, were they anyhow different other the looks?" Wan ting said.
Yue liang looked above, remembering the interactions back at the mansion and shaked her head.
"When i got home, everything was the same also, except for dad and aunt" Wan ting continued,
"Aunt lu was the one working, but she had already stopped working since some years."
She added, adjusting herself on the bed.
"Aunt lu?" Yue liang repeated, confirming whether she heard it correct.
Wan ting nodded her head enthusiastically in response,
"And dad,.... He...., he was normal" wan ting said, as her eyes replayed the memories of her reunion with her family.
"How many years before was it ?" Yue liang asked out of the blue,
"What ?" Wan ting came back to reality by the sudden change of topic,
"Aunt lu, when did she stop working?" Yue liang questioned,
" About 5-6 years, i don't remember that clearly, why'd you ask?" Wan ting enquired,
"You noticed, everything is set back in time!" Yue exclaimed.
