Adam was many things, but he was certainly not stupid. He could feel the weight of the dirty, judgmental eyes the police officer was directing toward him, and he knew exactly what kind of tawdry scenario she was constructing in her mind.
He was well aware that in her eyes, he had transformed from a respected national leader into a desperate man who couldn't even make it home before succumbing to his physical urges.
However, Adam had developed a very thick skin over his years in the public eye. He didn't care about the woman's personal thoughts or her silent disapproval in the slightest.
To him, her opinion was a minor inconvenience compared to the biological crisis he was currently managing.
He offered her a final, cool nod as he shifted the car back into gear. "Since we are all done with the formalities here, I will be leaving," Adam said, his tone perfectly even.
