Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 – The Dance Decision

Jayjay's POV

The class was filled with noise and laughter as Section E gathered after the monthly assembly. Blaster stood at the front, spinning a marker between his fingers.

"So, first day of the festival — we'll go with dancing!" he announced proudly.

Ci-n immediately raised his hand. "Obviously I'm in. My moves belong to the people."

Felix snorted. "Yeah, to warn them."

Everyone laughed. Then Calix leaned forward. "Count me in too. It's been a while since I performed."

Keifer turned his gaze toward Edrix, who was lazily flipping through his notebook. "You joining, Edrix?"

Edrix shrugged. "Sure. Not like I've got anything better to do."

Blaster counted on his fingers. "Okay — that's me, Ci-n, Felix, Calix, and Edrix."

Keifer grinned. "Hmm, feels like we're missing one more."

That's when Ciel's hand shot up. "Adrian should join!"

Everyone turned to look at him. Adrian was leaning against a desk, arms crossed, expression bored.

He blinked once. "No."

Ciel crossed her arms right back. "Yes."

He sighed. "Ciel, don't start—"

But she was already smirking. "You can't hide it! I saw you dancing last night!"

Felix leaned in. "Dancing? Our Adrian?"

Ciel smiled wide. "Yup! And not just any dance — one of the hardest in the world!"

Then she held up her phone and pressed play.

The class went dead silent for half a second — before exploding.

There was Adrian, moving like he owned gravity. Every spin, every step, every beat — perfect. Clean. Effortless.

His rhythm, his control — it didn't look like something he practiced. It looked like something he was born with.

"Yo! That's the Gravity Break routine!" Ci-n shouted. "People train for months to get that right!"

Felix's eyes widened. "And he makes it look like he's walking in the park!"

Adrian sighed, rubbing his forehead. "It's nothing. I was just dancing."

Ciel grinned. "Sureee. Just dancing."

The others started cheering and teasing. Adrian's jaw tightened. "Ciel…"

And that was it — he bolted up and started chasing her around the classroom.

"AHH! You promised not to show anyone!" she screamed, laughing hysterically.

"Come here, you little—" he said, nearly tripping over Calix's bag.

Everyone laughed louder. Even Keifer had to hold in his grin, whispering near me,

"Remind me to never make your friends mad."

I giggled. "Too late, you're already one of us."

Ciel ran behind Yuri, using him as a human shield. "Save me!"

Yuri smiled slyly. "Relax, Adrian. If you're this worked up, maybe you and I should dance together."

The entire class went crazy.

Ciel peeked out from behind him. "Okay, I'm done hiding!" She darted to my side instead, laughing.

Adrian sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose as everyone stared, waiting.

Finally, he groaned. "Fine. I'll join. Happy now?"

The room erupted in cheers and claps.

Ciel pumped her fist. "Yes! Section E's dance team is complete!"

And as I looked around, everyone laughing together — I realized how much we'd grown.

From rivals to teammates.

From strangers… to something that finally felt like family.

Adrian's POV

I knew that tone in Ciel's voice before she even spoke.

Whenever she sounded too innocent, it meant trouble.

"Adrian should join!" she said, all confident and smiling.

I stared at her flatly. "No."

"Yes."

"Ciel, don't—"

Too late. She was already pulling out her phone, eyes glinting with mischief.

And I instantly knew what it was.

"Oh no," I muttered under my breath.

"This!" she shouted, pressing play.

And just like that, the room erupted into noise.

On the screen was me — dancing in the living room.

Not just any dance — the Gravity Break routine. One of the toughest in the world.

It was supposed to be just a late-night thing — a way to unwind.

But Ciel… of course she had to record it.

"Bro, that's Gravity Break!" Ci-n yelled. "You nailed every beat!"

Blaster shook his head in disbelief. "Man, people can't even get through half that routine!"

I shrugged, keeping my voice calm. "It's nothing. I was just dancing."

Ciel gasped dramatically. "Just dancing? Adrian, you nearly broke physics!"

The whole class burst into laughter.

I sighed. "Ciel…"

She giggled, which only made it worse.

So yeah — I chased her.

"Stop running!" I called, but I couldn't hide the smile pulling at my lips.

"Not until you admit you're amazing!" she yelled, darting between desks.

Then Yuri decided to jump in. "Come on, Adrian. Save your energy — we could always perform a duet."

The teasing roars from everyone echoed around me.

I froze for a second, staring at Yuri's smug grin.

Then looked around the room — at Jayjay smiling, Keifer laughing, everyone just having fun.

I let out a breath and gave up.

"Fine," I said finally. "I'll join."

Ciel squealed and threw her hands up. "Knew it!"

The laughter continued, but this time I didn't mind.

Because deep down… I kind of wanted to do it.

Not for the school, or even the festival.

But for them.

My team.

My family.
