Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: The Escape

(Jayjay's POV)

It was Friday afternoon — the final exam had just ended, and everyone in Section E looked like survivors of a long, painful war.

Felix stretched and yelled, "Freedom!" while Ci-N dropped his pen dramatically on the desk.

"I can't feel my brain anymore," he groaned.

Ciel just smiled quietly, "You never used it in the first place."

That earned her a glare and a flying eraser.

I laughed. The air was light again, and it felt good seeing everyone back to normal — especially Adrian and Ciel .

They'd both been quiet for the past few weeks, but now, even Adrian joined in when Valerie hummed a tune while packing her books.

But then, just as the bell rang, the classroom door suddenly opened.

Angelo stood there, still wearing his long black coat, his expression tense — too tense.

The laughter stopped.

Even Valerie's humming faded.

"Angelo?" Adrian said first, standing up. "What's wrong?"

Angelo's eyes scanned the room, then he said quietly but firmly,

"Victor has escaped."

The words hit like thunder.

"What?" Ciel asked in disbelief.

"You mean their uncle? That Victor?" Felix blurted out.

Angelo nodded. "He escaped early this morning. The guards found two officers unconscious near his cell. There were signs of a struggle — and one of the cars from the security bay is missing."

The whole class froze.

Adrian's hands clenched.

keifer's expression darkened.

I could feel my stomach twist — like something bad was about to happen again.

Angelo stepped further in. "I came straight here because I know he'll try to reach you, Adrian. You and Ciel both."

Ciel swallowed hard. "Why now? He should've been locked up tightly."

Angelo's eyes lowered for a second. "We don't know yet. But the worst part is…" he paused. "…he wasn't alone. Someone helped him from the outside."

Keifer leaned forward. "Who would even help him?"

Angelo shook his head. "We're still investigating."

Silence filled the room again — thick and heavy.

Then Adrian spoke, his voice calm but dangerous,

"If he's coming for us… we'll be ready this time."

Valerie looked at him, concern in her eyes.

"Adrian…" she whispered in Korean, "너무 무리하지 마 (don't push yourself too hard)."

He turned to her, replying softly in the same tone,

"괜찮아, 발레리. 이번에는… 절대 놓치지 않을 거야 (It's okay, Valerie. This time… I won't let him get away)."

A chill ran through all of us.

This wasn't the same Adrian from weeks ago.

This time, his calm had turned into something colder — and more focused.

We all knew…

Section E's peace had just been broken again.
