Liana walked slowly toward the sofa and saw David curled up and trembling.
"Sir? Mr. David? Why didn't you open the door?" Liana asked softly, being careful not to startle David.
Hearing Liana familiar voice right in front of him, David reacted instinctively. The fear that had been suffocating him for the past few minutes sought an outlet. David, with a quick and sudden movement, pulled Liana in, hugging her tightly.
David hug was incredibly strong, almost choking Liana, making it slightly difficult for her to move. Liana could feel David entire body shaking violently. The man seemed genuinely terrified.
"What's wrong, Sir?" Liana asked again, her voice now full of concern. Although surprised by the sudden hug, Liana did not struggle. She allowed David to hold her, offering the comfort David needed at that moment.
