Liana sat on the waiting chair outside the treatment room, fidgeting her legs nervously. She kept staring at the white door, hoping David was alright.
Soon after, the door opened, and Doctor Erik came out. Liana immediately stood up, her eyes filled with questions.
"How is he, inside?" Liana asked anxiously.
Erik sighed, removing the mask covering his mouth. "He's stable. He has severe mental exhaustion, coupled with an acute panic attack. Just like previous years. This is common."
"Just like previous years?" Liana repeated in confusion. "Is it all... because of his late sister?"
Erik nodded. "Yes. His sister death. David is always at his lowest whenever the anniversary of his sister death arrives. His mother always used to bring him here unconscious."
Erik leaned his back against the wall, looking at Liana. "I thought he would be fine today, considering you've been close to him lately. I thought, with your presence, he could forget about today."
