Erik quickly signaled with his hand for Liana to stay still. "Shh. Just stay like that," Erik whispered. "He's calm now. Don't let him wake up again."
Erik, who never expected to see his stubborn friend show such a fragile side and be completely dependent on Liana, shook his head slightly. He approached the bed, administering an additional tranquilizer shot into David line without disturbing their position.
Erik finished adjusting David. He turned to Liana, who was still tightly embraced by David.
"He will sleep soundly now. The tranquilizer effect is quite strong," Erik whispered. He smiled faintly. "I think you need rest too, Liana. Your face looks very tired."
Liana smiled faintly. "Thank you, Doctor Erik."
Erik then exited the room, leaving David and Liana alone.
