"Alicia, you're up next!" Professor White looked at the lone girl still standing in the Duel Plaza and said softly, "I'm quite curious… what kind of Spirit will you summon this time?"
"Mm! I'll make sure to surprise you, Professor!" Alicia chirped before walking toward the stone tablet of the Book of Summoning.
But as soon as she turned her back, her expression immediately fell. Anxious, she began to whisper to Yuui.
Alicia: "Yuui-san (o゜▽゜)o, what Spirit should I summon this time? Another Elemental HERO from a parallel world?"
Yuui: "Hmm... well, yes. You could continue summoning the Elemental HEROes from that parallel world. After all, compared to this world's HEROes, most of the ones from that world, aside from the Fusion Monsters, tend to have much more practical effects."
Alicia: "I see... though which one should I summon then? I've been thinking, and among the HEROes you told me about, several can really boost my Deck's speed. As for those who could serve as aces, there are a few of those too… but I doubt I can summon them yet!"
Yuui: "Then you have to decide; do you want to further improve your Deck's speed, summon another ace HERO, or perhaps bring out a Spirit with strong future potential?"
Alicia thought for a moment, wavered then said, "Let's go with improving my Deck's speed! I already have Great Tornado and Shining Flare Wingman as my ace HEROes, and I have Neos as my potential Spirit. For now, I'd rather focus on smoother Deck flow."
Yuui nodded. "Makes sense. In that case, choose one among Blazeman, Liquid Soldier, Solid Soldier, or Shadow Mist. You already know their stories, and with your current magical reserves, summoning any of them should be easy."
"That said, personally, I'd advise against summoning Shadow Mist for now. Since we don't have the Masked HERO cards yet, summoning her wouldn't be very efficient."
"I see! Got it!" Alicia nodded and began pondering which HERO would best suit her Deck at its current stage.
Yuui watched her with satisfaction. He never wanted to raise a Duelist who simply followed his orders without independent thought.
As for the Masked HEROes he mentioned—yes, they did exist in this world too.
In this world, although the HERO archetype was vast and well-known, most of its cards were Elemental HEROes. Destiny HEROes and Vision HEROes were rarer, while Masked HEROes were nearly unheard of.
Moreover, this world only had the HEROes seen in the GX anime, not those from the manga. For example, Elemental HERO Stratos originally belonged to the manga version of Jaden Yuki's Deck.
That meant the four Elemental HEROes Yuui listed had never existed in this world at all. Yet he knew their stories in detail, which allowed Alicia to summon them.
It was unfortunate, however, that they lacked any Masked HERO cards for now. Otherwise, Shadow Mist would have been a viable choice for this summoning.
Shadow Mist, as a Duel Monster, was quite capable—even so, without Masked HERO support, her role in the Deck would be far less impactful compared to Blazeman, Liquid Soldier, or Solid Soldier.
And as for why Yuui didn't just forge the Masked HERO cards himself—it wasn't that he didn't want to. He simply lacked the magical power to do so.
Forging Titaniklad the Ash Dragon had already consumed most of his reserves. Even then, it wasn't enough; he had to drain the Eye of Wisdom completely just to finish it.
More recently, when Alicia created Great Tornado, she had also exhausted all the magical energy the Eye of Wisdom had accumulated. As a result, Yuui could no longer craft new cards.
Of course, the Eye of Wisdom's magic could be replenished. If Alicia poured half of her current magic into it daily, they could regain enough energy in about a month to craft two Masked HERO cards.
Still, Yuui preferred strengthening their existing Elemental HERO lineup over barely making do with temporary Masked HERO options.
After a few moments of contemplation, Alicia finally decided which Spirit she would summon.
She took a deep breath, stepped up to the Book of Summoning's tablet, and placed her hand on its surface.
"Blessing of the divine, O Book of Summoning that bears the memory of the planet! Let the Water HERO who masters the art of the flowing stream, whose power can turn water into blades, come forth and become my ally! Spirit Summon!!"
"Oh? A Water HERO who can wield flowing water as blades!?"
Professor White's eyes lit up with interest. Comparing the chant to his knowledge, he realized no known HERO fit that description. A smile tugged at his lips. "Another unknown HERO, hmm? I wonder what kind of power this one will possess."
The moment Alicia's magic flowed into the Book of Summoning, a hieroglyph at its center began to glow. A surge of turquoise water burst forth like a high-pressure jet, misting the air. Under the sunlight, a brief rainbow appeared.
And from within the spray emerged a warrior clad in a black-and-silver bodysuit, armored in aqua-green plating, with streams of water swirling around him.
[Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier]
"Just as I thought… another HERO I've never seen before," Professor White murmured with growing excitement. "Where on earth is she learning about these HEROes? Fascinating!"
He looked at Alicia and asked, "Alicia, what is this Spirit's name?"
"Liquid Soldier!" Alicia said proudly, gazing up at the warrior before her. "Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier!!"
