Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: Time Skip, Eventual Farewell.

Noticing his change inside, Yoichi began addressing the gains in his proficiency breakthrough.

First, the Qi-Blood flow was steadily smooth and could be utilized for short bursts of power. In the past, it was as if a sewer was clogged by heaps of trash, harnessing Qi-Blood with discrepancy.

In addition, his punch force reached 10 catties based on the dent in the wooden dummy, a result of his experiments. Relatively speaking, this wasn't far off from the normal human's punch force which was 10 Kilograms.

However, the usage was still limited, and every time Yoichi utilized his Qi-Blood, a pang of hunger slowly gnawed into his consciousness.

After his demonstration, Yoichi sat down and loosened up. A little bit of relaxation was enough for him since he still has a lot of things to accomplish.

"Wow! What the fuck! You did that? You can definitely kill people with just a punch!" Genji exclaimed.

Looking at the dent in the chest of the dummy, Sabito and Hikari subconsciously swallowed their saliva from apprehension and were flabbergasted.

'Such a shame, if they could practice these techniques... Still, it was locked behind my proficiency and could only be unlocked through a Perfection Level technique! How can I manage to do that in such a short time?!'

He was bewildered by the hindrance of the system yet the helpful panel remained cold and lifeless.

"No, it's nothing. It is a simple use of force. Compared to the earth-shattering jutsu, it was completely out of its league." Yoichi replied.

"Yeah, you are right!" Sabito aspired to be a famous shinobi, an intense yearning surfaced in his face.

Genji and Hikari went soul-wandering, seeking not only fame or reputation but freedom above all else.

"Oi, snap out of it! Train earnestly and maybe there's a spot for you all in the future! For now, practice throwing and combat exercises." After recovering from exhaustion, Yoichi stood and taught them the general fundamentals with a focus in mind.

All of his random knowledge of movements and sneaky attacks was presently shown. By the looks of it, doom-scrolling and years of internet surfing were considerably useful even though it was only rudimentary at best.

...

As time went by, the plain and boring cycle ended with a meeting in the cafeteria.

In less than a month, Yoichi gained 132 points in his posture technique. The reason for a low accumulation was the lack of invaluable Qi-Blood Pills.

Due to the loss of priceless pills, his progress went into substantial decline. With the available Qi-Blood Pills, he was able to obtain 7 points in a day. Currently, his harvest was a measly 3 points. A drastic change in his evolution as if a butterfly undergoing metamorphosis, then dies from being trapped in a cocoon.

However, Yoichi took the shift as a challenge. With 1 Silver Ticket and no choice left, he trained vigorously from day to night. Adapting wasn't his best forte yet with the proficiency panel and significant results being seen, Yoichi tackled the situation without any problems.

As for his friends, Genji and Hikari became quite good at dodging strikes and fighting against Yoichi. Technically, both of them could avoid his unpredictable throwing angles with barely any effort. On the other hand, Sabito pales in comparison to both yet he did relatively well throughout the rest of the month.

"Listen up! Every child here will be entering the trials Hanzō-sama has formulated. Take this task very seriously since it will be your only chance to be recruited by our Hidden Village, Amegakure!" In the front, Hayate's commanding tone soared across the cafeteria.

"Hahaha, I will have a chance to be a shinobi!"

"But trials?! Did Yoichi and Masaru prepare for these trials in the past few days? How unfair!"

"Forget about them, we have an opportunity to work for the Hidden Village. Once I am a shinobi, I will make them kneel and kiss my foot!"

Countless murmurs of the children went out of control while Yoichi and his friends remained impassive, deeply aware and ignoring the reactions of the crowd.

"Silence!" Seeing them fall silent, Hayate continued, "These trials include other children from the Amegakure. Work hard and prove that you are the best! Now, each child I called needs to go in front!"

Hearing the last sentence, Yoichi grew serious and felt a bad premonition in his mind.

'Shit, it's grouping up children!'

"No matter what happens, just stay calm, okay? There is a chance we might be separated from each other. Don't lose your composure and always think about your tremendous efforts!" Listening to Yoichi's observation, the three went pale from trepidation and anxiety.

Before his friends started cursing their misery, Hayate's voice resounded once more.

"Ibuki!"

"Satomi!"

"Hanashi!"

"Genji!"

"Motoharu!"

"..."

As the names were being summoned, the voice suddenly stopped.

"Looks like we are really set apart... Survive, okay? Or I will haunt you all! I will take my leave now..." With a heavy heart, Genji bitterly smiled and walked to the front as Hikari couldn't help but shed tears. It was a farewell without the certainty of being able to have a reunion and for the first time, this might be the only time they were apart after being together for so long.

"... We will! Take care!" Hikari replied, sniffing heavily while Yoichi patted her back. On the side, Sabito simply nodded, stopping himself from spilling his complex emotions.

As 10 kids eventually lined up, Hayate said, "From now on, you will be the Group A! Finish the task and do well. Mitsuru, take them into the cart and move as quickly as possible!"

One by one, the children followed Mitsuru as Genji glanced at his friends and waved, a goodbye filled with uncertainty and ambition. The cart went on as the silhouette began to disappear within the shade of unstoppable rain and numerous trees around.

Afterwards, the calling moved on to the remaining children. Luckily, Yoichi and Hikari managed to be in the same group, Group D while Sabito drifted far away from them, Group F. However, Yoichi didn't know that since they were instantly transported with Isamu as a supervisor and escort of the cart.

The children's eyes shone with hope and purpose while Yoichi felt a mix of thrill and anxiety as another chapter in his life was flipped, turning the page into the unknown territory.

'Why?! Fuck, I am in the same group as Masaru and Tadao!'

On Sabito's side, he was nervous and scared, looking at Masaru's faint smile. The smile felt like a predator smelled its prey near him.
