Chapter 13 - Chapter Eleven Plans, Promises, and Potter Vault Problems

Sorry for the late upload, I have been studying for the med term exams for college.

Morning sunlight filtered softly through the curtains, settling in warm gold across the room. Auron woke slowly, the world drifting into focus with the faint scent of lilies and the sensation of warm breath against his chest.

Lily lay curled against him, her red hair a soft blaze across the pillow. Her arm rested over his waist in a way that only a few months ago would have made him panic, but now made his heart feel annoyingly fluttery.

He groaned quietly. Godhood is easy. Feelings? Not so much.

Lily stirred, blinking awake. When her eyes found him, she smiled that small, gentle smile that always made his divine heart stumble.

"Morning, moon-brain," she teased softly.

Auron smirked. "Morning, future immortal troublemaker."

She swatted his shoulder lightly because she was still sore from their late-night exercise. After all, having a god as a lover does have its benefits. "You still think the Olympians will say yes?"

"Oh, absolutely," Auron said confidently. "I've already bribed Hermes with five pounds of chocolate and the promise of letting him prank Apollo."

Lily raised a brow. "You are encouraging that menace?"

"I'm encouraging chaos," Auron clarified proudly. "Controlled chaos. My specialty."

She laughed and snuggled closer. For several moments, they simply breathed together, the peace between them warm and honest.

Then Auron exhaled slowly.

"Lily… we need to talk about Harry."

Instant tension. Lily lifted her head, worry sparking in her green eyes.

"What about Harry? Is he sick? Is something wrong with his magic? Did he set Zoe's hair on fire again?"

"That was one time," Auron muttered. "And technically it was the candle's fault."

Lily's expression softened. "Then… what is it?"

Auron brushed a thumb gently along her cheek.

"I want to make him my son."

Her breath caught. "Auron…"

"A real son," he continued, voice steady. "Not just in how I act. A blood-binding adoption. One that removes James Potter from his lineage entirely."

Lily's eyes widened not with fear, but with overwhelming emotion.

"You… you'd do that for him? For us?"

Auron snorted. "Lily. I already consider him my brat. He calls me Moony-Dad. I didn't choose that nickname. It just happened."

Lily laughed through tears. "He does love you."

"And I love him. Blood ritual or not."

She wiped her eyes, smiling shakily. "What about Artemis? And Hecate?"

Auron shrugged. "Mom thinks it's adorable. Grandma Hecate threatened to hex the entire Potter line anyway, so honestly, this helps her out."

Lily snorted. "That sounds like her."

"Plus," Auron said smugly, "Harry deserves better than the British magical world's future train wreck."

Lily frowned. "You mean Hogwarts?"

"Lily… your people think staircases that make students fall and putting students in unnecessary danger is normal behavior."

"…Okay, fair."

"And Dumbledore wants to raise Harry like a sacrificial lamb."

Her jaw tightened. Auron continued gently:

"I don't want Harry anywhere near Hogwarts. He doesn't need prophecy nonsense. He needs a childhood."

Lily swallowed. "Then what do you suggest?"

Auron smirked.

"Ilvermorny."

Lily blinked. "In America?"

"Safest magical school on Earth. No ancient death cults. No prophecy obsession. No creepy headmasters grooming child soldiers."

"Well… when you put it that way…"

"And," Auron added playfully, "their food is better."

Lily laughed again. It was soft, warm, and full of relief.

"So we move everything?" she asked. "The vaults, the inheritance, everything James left?"

Later that day.

He American goblins had a reputation for professionalism.

Auron ruined that within six seconds of walking into the marble hall behind Lily.

One goblin froze, stared straight into Auron's silver-glowing eyes, made a sound halfway between a hiccup and a scream, and rolled off his stool like a toppled potato sack.

Lily elbowed Auron sharply."You're glowing again!"

"It's a calm glow," Auron whispered back. "A reassuring glow."

Another goblin peeked over a ledger, saw Auron, shrieked something in Gobbledegook roughly translating to "THE SKY-SON HAS COME FOR OUR SOULS," and sprinted out the back door.

Lily closed her eyes in pained dignity."This is why I told you to wait outside."

"I wanted to support you."

"You're supporting me by giving the goblins heart attacks!"

Eventually, one senior goblin approached an older, sterner, clearly too tired to run for his life.

Lily stepped forward with the calm of a queen reclaiming her throne."Widow Lily Potter. I am invoking my marital inheritance rights and transferring all Potter vaults from Gringotts London to the North American Grand Repository. Effective immediately."

Silence rippled through the chamber.

Even Auron straightened a bit.

The goblin bowed deeply."It shall be done."

Thirty signatures, two ritual cuts, one magical oath, and another collapsed goblin later, the transfer was complete.

Harry Potter was now legally:

a North American magical resident

independent of British magical jurisdiction

completely out of Dumbledore's reach

Lily exhaled, tension melting from her shoulders."It's done."

Auron slid his arm around her waist. "You were magnificent."

"I almost committed homicide."

"And magnificently."

Despite herself, Lily smiled.

Later that afternoon.

As he sees Lily is dealing with Harry's antics again.

He looked skyward."Time to finish this properly."

A single step forward, and he vanished.

Hogwarts Castle.

Hogwarts was ancient. Wise. Full of magic so old it had moods.

It had never met Auron.

He slipped through the wards like smoke through fingers, alarms. No tremors. Just silence the Force, smoothing every ripple.

He passed beneath stained-glass windows depicting founders long dead. He walked through a locked door that dared to remain locked after the son of Artemis touched it.

"Rude," he murmured as he passed through it anyway.

Mrs. Norris sensed a disturbance in the universe and arched her back, hissing at absolutely nothing. Filch came stomping out moments later, yelling, "WHO'S THERE?" at the hallway's left wall.

Auron was already two floors above him.

As he enters the Headmaster's office, he takes note of Old Wards curled around the door like sleeping serpents, clever, powerful, and proud. Unfortunately, that is nothing but a fly compared to his power.

Auron rolled his shoulders."Let's dance."

The Force stretched out, brushing lightly against every layer of enchantment. The wards sighed, relaxed, and parted like an old friend stepping aside.

Auron entered without a whisper.

And there it rested, on a wooden stand:

The Cloak of Invisibility.Death's gift.A relic of the Peverells.Harry's birthright.

Auron lifted it with reverence.

"Your rightful owner is waiting," and just to mess with him, he takes his precious symbol, his phoenix," he whispered. With a flick of his hand, he severed the bond between Dumbledore and his phoenix and made the phoenix his. After all, it was just so easy to do because of his mother.

Behind him, in an adjoining room, Dumbledore shifted in his sleep, frowning as if sensing destiny change direction without his permission.

Auron left no trace.

"Before I leave, I think the Hunt would like to kill the giant snake, so I'll take that as well."

Auron landed silently in the Chamber of Secrets, the green torchlight rippling over the stagnant water.

The basilisk stirred, sensing movement.

Auron snapped his fingers once.

Silver fire flashed across the chamber.

The basilisk's eyes shattered into harmless dust, painless, instantaneous, divine-level precision. Auron didn't trust its gaze near the Hunt, and he certainly didn't trust it anywhere near Harry.

The monstrous serpent hissed in confusion, rising

Auron snapped again.

Every single fang dislodged itself neatly, hovering in the air like enormous, venom-dripping daggers.

"Good," Auron said, catching one between two fingers. "The girls can use these for trophies."

He waved a hand, and the teeth vanished into the back at the camp.

"Now then… let's relocate you."

He touched two fingers to the basilisk's snout.

Auron reappeared

A ripple of moon-silver energy surged outward, swallowing the massive creature whole. In a single smooth pulse, the entire basilisk, all sixty-plus feet of muscle and scale, teleported straight into the Hunt's private forest.

A heartbeat later, a distant earth-shaking thud echoed across Artemis's domain.

Then

Zoe's battle shout: "HE BRINGS US GIFTS!"

Phoebe: "DIBS ON FIRST STRIKE!"

Random Hunter: "AMAZING! IT'S MOVING IT'S MOVING FAST"

Auron brushed imaginary dust from his hands.

"Target practice," he said smugly. "Begin."

Lily was waiting with crossed arms.

"…Auron."Her voice had that dangerous softness only a mother and a soon-to-be goddess could achieve.

He held up the phoenix like an offering.

"Lily. I brought a present."

Fawkes let out a musical trill.

Lily's expression melted instantly. "Auron… you… You took Fawkes?"

"He chose me," Auron said smoothly. "I'm very likable."

Fawkes nodded.

"And the basilisk?" Lily asked weakly.

"Oh. Delivered it to the Hunt grounds."Auron dusted off his hands. "Zoe already claimed first strike."

A distant, excited battle-cry echoed from the trees.

Lily pinched the bridge of her nose."…Of course she did."

Auron slipped an arm around her waist. "Everything's ours now. The vaults. Harry's future. Our safety. No more Dumbledore. No more threats."

Lily exhaled, leaning into him.

"Come to bed?" she whispered.

Auron kissed her hair."Always."

They walked back toward the lodge, the phoenix glowing warmly at their heels and the distant sound of the Hunt joyfully attempting to kill a basilisk echoing through the night.

For the first time, Auron felt it deep in his bones:
